FREE COMMUNITY CONCERT - Concert for Fifth Grade Students
      Join us on Tuesday, March 14 at 9:15 and 10:45 am at Grace Church, 3626 Hwy 31 for our annual Concert for Fifth Grade Students. Free and open to members of the community of all ages, the Concert will deliver a lively and interactive concert experience introducing attendees to instruments, instrument families and basic composition.

Potawatomi Hotel & Casino's Heart of Canal Street program is the primary sponsor of this project.
This Concert is also supported by a generous donation from Educators' Credit Union.

Young Artists' Competition Winners Announced

      Talented high school instrumental students competed on Sunday, February 12 in our annual Young Artists' Competition. Cellist Matthew Udry won the Competition with his performance of Dvoak's Cello Concert in B minor, movement 1. Fellow cellist Kyle Pearl placed second and clarinetist Katiann Nelson captured third place. All three received scholarship money. Mr. Udry will perform at our Season Finale Masterworks Concert on Saturday, April 8 at 7:30 pm at UW-Parkside's Frances Bedford Concert Hall.

Woodman's Markets and Kiwanis Club of West Racine provided support for the Young Artists' Competition.

If you have not yet donated, we please ask that you consider doing so. It is donors like you who make our programs - concerts and music education - possible for thousands in the Racine community.

MP3 Player Collection for Music Therapy Patients
      Did you know that music can reach patients afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias? Listening to familiar, emotion-evoking music can help reestablish connections between these patients and the world around them.

     Racine Habitat for Humanity is collecting new and used MP3 players (including iPods) to benefit patients at St. Monica's Senior Citizens Home. Donations may be dropped of at Racine Habitat for Humanity's Restore Store, 2302 DeKoven Ave (Tuesday & Thursday 10-4, Saturday 9-4 or in the drop box after hours) or at the RSO office.
     A receipt for tax purposes will be provided by Habitat for Humanity upon request. For more information on this program and how to help, please call (262) 898-2929.
