March 2018
a newsletter about current events & updates

Well, it seems that I am only going to be doing one newsletter per month. I don't have the same amount of time I used to have. I'll try and do more - but no promises. Lots going on.

p.s. In many cases the images below can be clicked to link to a website. I try and do that whenever there are tickets to purchase or other reasons to link.
If you want something added to this newsletter - please click here! The best thing to send me is a PDF or JPG of a poster describing your announcement. Do not send me press releases. They don't work well in this format and I don't have the time to reformat them. Thanks!

Title: Talking about Dying
Sunday Afternoon Conversation
Cost: Free
Sunday, March 11th - 2:00pm to 3:30pm
What do we think about when we think of dying? When we think about our own dying, what do we want most?
Death is part of the human experience; all of us have experienced loss, and all of us will die one day. Yet conversations about death and dying are difficult and often avoided even with our closest family members and friends.
This is the focus of Talking about Dying, a free conversation with Fred Grewe.

Saturday April 14th 10:30am - 1:30pm.

This is a fun exploratory class in printmaking using commercial and homemade gelatin printing plates. We will experiment with color, plant materials, stencils, masks and texturing materials to make complex papers that can be used as collage for mixed media projects or framed as art. I will also cover how to make your own stamps and stencils to use for printing.
If you own a commercial "Gelli Plate" please bring it to class. I will have 3 commercial plates and several homemade plates to share. Bring along some soft leaves, so they do not dig into the plate surface and any of your favorite stencils and texture materials ex: bubble wrap, lace...
