Help us Reach for the Stars!
For 16 years DCSD students have been awed and inspired by experiences in the district's portable planetarium. Sadly, the aging equipment has served its last class of students. Last December, the equipment had to be permanently retired due to unrepairable electrical problems.

On Thursday, June 14 at the Cherokee Castle and Ranch, the Foundation will be hosting the Reach for the Stars reception presented by Kaiser Permanente to raise money to purchase a Digital StarLab ®, a state-of-the-art immersive planetarium. The reception will include a sneak-peak into the Digital StarLab ®, live music and an exciting program showcasing the cutting-edge STEM education initiatives in Douglas County Schools. The evening is sure to be filled with fun and celebration, but most importantly, a generous outpouring of support for the 68,000 students that walk our halls each day.

We hope you'll join us in our campaign to replace this valuable resource. A s a district resource, the planetarium will travel from school to school, impacting thousands of students across the district each year.

Partner Highlight - Integrity Fundraising/Butter Braids
Integrity Fundraising has been helping groups in Colorado raise money with Butter Braid pastries for school parent groups, marching bands, sports, and educational class trips for the past 21 years.

Butter Braid
pastries - buttery strudel filled with delicious flavors such as strawberry cream cheese, apple, cinnamon, and blueberry cream cheese - are family favorites!

Keith Wagner started this family-run business in his Castle Rock basement with his father-in-law Al Hooyman, and over the years, their business has continued to grow as their reputation of treating their customers as friends has spread by word of mouth.

The Rock Canyon Community Alliance hosted its annual fundraiser "Rock the Night Away" on Feb. 24th. It was a fun-filled night of food, drinks, a live band, golf simulators and a live and silent auction. This event benefits all students raising funds for teacher grants, projects and special events, including After Prom. The purpose of the Rock Canyon Community Alliance is to promote community involvement, working together to benefit all students at Rock Canyon. Organizers extolled, "Thanks to our amazing community we raised over $20,000! We are so grateful for the continued support of Rock Canyon's administration, teachers, parents and community!"
