Gone But Not Forgotten
CLARA MARIE MARSTON
November 9, 1936- February 22, 2018

Clara Marie Marston, a lifelong resident of Mobile, passed away on February 22, 2018. She was born in Lake Village Arkansas on November 9, 1936 into a large family of Italian immigrants. Clara was a graduate of Convent of Mercy High School, class of 1956. She was a devoted mother to her five children and spent her days volunteering at their schools. She was an entrepreneur. She owned and operated the Marston's Ice Cream Parlor on Azalea Road. Clara was also successful in the real estate business. She was a founding member and active parishioner of St Vincent de Paul Church located on Three Notch Road. She was honored to be a Lay Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She volunteered serving lunch each day at Tillman's Corner Senior Center. She loved to dance, play cards and dominoes. Clara had a vivacious spirit and never met a stranger. She was a diligent worker, strong and determined, with a servant's heart. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Josephine Pursell; her husband, Herman Marston Jr.; sister, Louise Brister; and grandsons, Adam and Philip Marston. She leaves to cherish her precious memory, five children; Steve Marston, Nita Marston, Lisa Prine (Rodney), Billy Marston (Angel), and Jimmy Marston (Kayleigh); eight grandchildren: Daniel Marston, Amy Marston, Brandie Yount, Chandler Nicholson, Lindsay Marston, Cory Prine, Christopher Marston, and Carla Ingle; her sister, Pat Toliver; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Jim Reinhart. Visitation will be held at St. Vincent de Paul on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. followed by Mass. In lieu of flowers contribution in Clara's memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul School, 6571 Larkspur Dr. Mobile, AL 36619.
Judith Rouse Phillips
NOVEMBER 12, 1947 – FEBRUARY 10, 2018

Judith Rouse Phillips is more alive today than she has ever been. She passed from this life to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 10th. She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace J and Mary Morgan Rouse. Mrs. Phillips was a faithful member of Indian Springs Baptist Church with whom she joyfully enjoyed Christian fellowship, serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mrs. Phillips was a gifted and avid quilter. She was a member of the Azalea City Quilters Guild and of the Sassy Stitchers Quilt Club. She used her quilting and sewing to bless and bring joy to countless numbers of family, friends, veterans and even strangers; gifting quilts, wedding dresses, newborn outfits and many other projects of love. While Mrs. Judith did work in some seasons of her life, her entire adulthood was devoted to her family as a faithful wife, mother and grannie! It was in this vocation that she certainly excelled! She loved them unconditionally, served them in humility, and has left a legacy of Christlikeness. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband, Frank Phillips Jr; her children, Jeffrey Phillips (Charity), Morgan Woodard (Seth), Lydia Bru (Robbie), and Miles Phillips. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, nieces, nephews and an uncountable number of friends. Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, AL on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 5-8 p.m., and beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite charity.
