Thomas L. Lewis Honored With Career Achievement Award
Thomas L. Lewis, OD, PhD, president emeritus of Salus University and professor in the University's Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO), was recently honored with the 2018 Career Achievement Award by the Review of Optometry
at the recent Southeastern Educational Congress of Optometry (SECO) conference in Atlanta, Ga.
This is the latest accolade bestowed on Dr. Lewis for his contributions to the profession of optometry and to optometric education.
Community Expressions: Latest D'Arrigo Family Gallery Exhibit Open
Featuring the work of 17 artists from the Salus University community, the second exhibit of the year in the D'Arrigo Family Gallery - housed in the University's Hafter Student Community Center - was unveiled with an opening reception on Monday, March 5.
"Community Expressions" includes pieces in a variety of mediums from Salus students, faculty, staff, a patient and family members. According to gallery curator and artist Elynne Rosenfeld, "Community Expressions" is a celebration of Salus University's homegrown talent. "[With] a long list of folks in the helping professions-or aspiring to be-there is also a great deal of creative ability within this group," she said.
Salus Appoints Four New Members to its Board of Trustees
At its most recent Board of Trustees meeting last month, Salus University announced four new appointments. "We are thrilled to welcome these accomplished individuals to the Salus Board of Trustees," President Dr. Michael Mittelman said. "We look forward to their input and unique expertise as we work together to positively impact medical education amid the changing face of healthcare in our country."
