Point Rediscovery Wetland Restoration Work Party
The DIRT Corps
Date/Time: Saturday, March 3, 10am - 2pm
Location: Park at Sea Mar Parking Lot, 10001 17th Pl S, Seattle
The entrance is along Des Moines Memorial Drive S. There will be someone to direct you down to the site location.
Volunteers will be planting trees as well as learning about the space and looking at designs for future planning. Point Rediscovery is a wonderful and beautiful place to discover. Not only is Point Rediscovery serene, it's also houses part of Hamm Creek, a tributary to the Duwamish River that has a salmon run every year. Point Rediscovery plays an important ecological role in the Green/Duwamish watershed. Everyone is welcome to work with DIRT Corps to continue forest and wetland restoration on open space owned by King County. Dress for the weather. Wear waterproof shoes or boots for walking in the mud. Light refreshments will be served.
Ages: Families with children of all ages are welcome to participate.

Westcrest Park Forest Restoration Work Party
The DIRT Corps
Date/Time: Saturday, March 31, 10am - 2pm
Location: 9000 8th Ave SW, Seattle. Park in the south parking lot of Westcrest Park, entrance is off SW Henderson St. Meet next to the p-patch gardens.
Join DIRT Corps in revitalizing Westcrest Park. We are working on the parcel of land next to 8th Ave, and it is overgrown with Himalayan blackberries! It's up to us and our volunteers to bring it under control. The beginning of this volunteer event will include a brief weed identification session. Combine knowledge with action as we work to clear this beautiful space of harmful species that overtakes the area. Let's work together to gradually transform and maintain Westcrest Park and make it a great public space for everyone to enjoy. Please bring water and also a lunch if you think you are going to get hungry. DIRT Corps will provide coffee and light refreshments. Wear closed-toed shoes, long sleeves, long pants, and hat. Dress for the weather.

Birthday Dreams is dedicated to bringing joy to homeless children with the gift of a birthday party. Birthday Dreams provides onsite birthday parties at homeless shelters and transitional housing facilities with all the trimmings. Kids are treated to cake, ice cream, and a great time. Past events have included face painters, clowns, inflatable toys, games, and other entertainment.
Ages: Families with children five and older are welcome to volunteer.
Time Commitment: One and one-half hours

Edible Hope
St. Luke's
Date/Time: Choose any morning Monday - Friday from 7 - 10am
Location: 5710 22nd Avenue NW, Seattle
Please join us in preparing a hot breakfast meal to serve to people experiencing homelessness. For over 27 years, St. Luke's has been welcoming and serving anyone who needs a meal in our church basement. Each weekday morning, a ministry team opens our doors, prepares coffee and food (all of which has been donated), and offers a meal, a cup of coffee, and a warm place to enjoy them to everyone who shows up. On average, we serve over 100 breakfast meals each day Monday through Friday. That's about 2,000 meals a month! We welcome your gift of time, care and nourishment to people experiencing hunger.
Ages: Children of all ages are welcome with adult supervision.
Time Commitment: Three hours

Help Local Children - Pack, Organize, Distribute Donations
WestSide Baby
Date/Time: There are a variety of dates and times available. Check
website for details.
Location(s):
WestSide Baby provides essentials to local children in need by collecting and distributing diapers, clothing, and equipment. Volunteers are an integral part of the organization and tasks can include sorting incoming donations of clothing and other items, packaging diapers, packaging toys, filling orders for children, and other projects as needed.
Ages: Families with children ages eight and older are welcome to volunteer. An adult must accompany volunteers between ages 8-13 and volunteers ages 14-17 must have a
signed consent form.
Time Commitment: Three to four hours

Become a Senior Angel
Doing Good Together
Date/Time: Once a week
Location: A senior in your community
You can help create a more age-integrated society and instill positive attitudes toward aging by providing your child with positive contacts with seniors. By becoming a Senior Angel your family will let a senior know they are remembered and loved through an ongoing weekly correspondence. Seniors who may be home-bound, confined to nursing homes, or in convalescent hospitals will look forward to your weekly greetings! You can reach out to a relative, neighbor or senior you know in your community
.
What you'll need:
- Stationery, greeting cards, pens, drawing or art supplies
- Occasional small, inexpensive, gifts ($2-$5), such as a box of tea or bar of scented soap
- Postage
Ages: Your whole family can participate!
Time Commitment: Varies, but please plan on making an ongoing, long-term commitment to your senior.
