IN REMEMBRANCE

We give thanks for the life of the Reverend Dr. Paul Samuelson, age 73, who died on Friday, February 17, 2017. He was born on September 19, 1943 in Pueblo, Colorado to Everett and Evelyn (Howard) Samuelson. Paul and his twin were the youngest of four children. His family valued education above all and keeping in Samuelson style, Paul received a bachelors degree in English at University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO, a Master of Divinity at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, CO and a Doctor of Ministry from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.

Paul served in Methodist churches in the Colorado, Nebraska, and Iowa for a period of 35 years. Paul loved liturgy and ministering to others, particularly during times of illness and death. Paul also had a passion for the treatment and recovery of individuals and families suffering with addiction. He was a great speaker and every sermon had a flavor of humor and useful ways of reaching God. Paul is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mari, his stepson, Chris and his wife, Katie, and their children Carson and Camden.
