Join Us for a Celebration of Our Program Participants
CELEBRATING OUR PARTICIPANT'S MILESTONES
Ronald and his son are participants in our Supportive Housing program.
Join us on March 8 for our Milestone Celebration as  we celebrate the success and resiliency of our participants. The event is an opportunity to learn about the achievements of program participants and how Connections serves and catalyzes our community to end homelessness, one person at a time.

The reception begins at 6:00 pm, with a formal presentation at 6:30. Guests are invited to join us for a community dinner at 7:00 pm with the honorees and the residents of Hilda's Place.

The Milestone Celebration will be held at Hilda's Place (1458 Chicago Ave, Evanston). Please RSVP to Andrew Seibert at [email protected] or 847.475.7070, x116.

Connections' Signature Event Raises $400,000
THRIVE REACHES UNPRECEDENTED SUCCESS
On Saturday, February 10, more than 300 guests  gathered at Architectural Artifacts for  THRIVE. Reimagined in 2017, Connections' signature event was sold-out for the second year in a row. And while the 2017 event achieved record-breaking fundraising, this year's event surpassed last year's totals by more than $50,000 - raising an unprecedented $400,000.

THRIVE presented guests with the opportunity to sample tastings from 11 local restaurants, including La Principal, Osteria Via Stato, and Peckish Pig, as well as test their olfactory senses at The Spice House's Aroma Challenge. Later in the evening, tables competed to win their favorite dessert, including the Pavlova, prepared and served by celebrity pastry chef Gale Gand herself.

THRIVE was " one of the most enjoyable fundraising galas we can remember - and we've been to a few," commented Board Member Mark Tendam. It's a sentiment that has been expressed by many since the event.

Our sincerest thanks to all who supported THRIVE and made our success possible. Special thanks to our 2018 planning committee, led by co-chairs Jill Greer and Mary Kay Halston.

Homelessness: More Than You May Think
Homelessness: More Than You May Think

We invite you to view our 2018 video, which debuted at THRIVE, highlighting two amazing and resilient mothers in our Supportive Housing program. Daralyn and Jeannette are thriving because of the help that Connections has been able to provide them and their families. Help that is only possible because of donors, like you, who are helping us end homelessness in our community, one person at a time... and one family at a time.
Upcoming Expansion of Services Provides More Opportunities for Engagement
EXPANSION = INCREASED VOLUNTEER NEEDS
Did you see the recent article in the Evanston Roundtable? Connections is launching a major expansion of our programs! Our expansion will allow us to serve more people through more drop in services, offer expanded medical care, and broaden our homelessness prevention program - keeping more of our neighbors from experiencing homelessness in the first place.

Over the next few months we look forward to sharing more details with you. But for now, we are actively looking for more volunteers to help support our expanded services! You can learn more about opportunities to get involved and sign up by visiting our website.
The Quiet Heroes Behind the Scenes
VOLUNTEERS IN ACTION
Volunteers from ZS Associates recently visited Hilda's Place to help paint storage lockers and organize supplies.
