Norm riding with Otis at Winter Carnival at Frates Family Farm
We had another wonderful and busy month at Zack's Place during February. It was also a very "snowy" month so we ended up having a couple of snow days. This is always bitter sweet because although it can be fun to get snowed in, have the day off or do something different for a change, it can also be a disappointment because we miss out on the programs scheduled for that day! The bottom line is nobody wants to miss a day at ZP!
We continued with all of our educational programs this month, science with Corinna, nutrition with Vince and storytelling with Jools. We were also incredibly active during February, continuing our fabulous ski program at Suicide Six with Vermont Adaptive every Tuesday, which is something everyone enjoys. We had snowshoe practice with coach Kitty and Dail, we played games with Carl, we worked out with Bari staying healthy and fit, we danced with Jen learning incredible moves, we did yoga with Jamie and Lalita and we even managed to get a morning of swimming in at the UVAC center. Wow...... what an active and busy group!
We also had a fun filled month of arts and crafts, music and theater. We continued our Monday afternoons at Artistree with Fiona making wonderful things out of clay. We made awesome rope bracelets, bird feeders, egg carton flowers and even made fake snow with Marissa. We made beautiful, colorful snowflakes with Bonnie and Lolly. We sang our hearts out with Kerry and made music with Mark and Kathleen.
We had a busy month at the theater seeing a couple of great performances and wonderful movies at Billings Farm and Pentangle. We saw "Vocal trash think before you throw it away" and "Lala Land" at Pentangle. We saw "Sing Street" and "Mona Lisa is Missing" at Billings Farm. We are often fortunate to get private showings for these movies, which we love.!
We started a new class with Vince Ramirez this month called "You are the center of the Universe" a meditation and relaxation class. We enjoyed our first one this month and our looking forward to more in the months ahead. We also had some great cooking classes with Sarah Roberts who always makes yummy and delicious treats. I almost forgot.... We spent to mornings this month at Maple Lanes bowling which is a popular outing and a ton of fun! We have some AMAZING bowlers in our Zack's Place crew.
It's hard to believe we could fit anything else in this busy month but we did and it was definitely a high light for us all. We were invited to Norm and Dail's house for the afternoon to go sledding, snow mobiling and snow shoeing. We had a fabulous afternoon together on one of the most beautiful days this winter. We made a snow bunny sculpture that we felt could have competed in "The Flurry" on the green. We snow shoed through the woods to the lower meadow and when all was said and done we sat on their front porch enjoying Dail's delicious homemade hot chocolate and Helen's yummy homemade brownies! It was a wonderful day!
