E-ComMenT

There's full blown panic mode in the office at present - I'm off to Barcelona on a training course on Saturday, and in the immediate run up to the Conference, it couldn't have come at a worse possible time.... I'm desperately trying to get everything done that I need to do, so that I can go with a clear conscience!  The course is all about patient involvement in drugs development - you can read all about it here, if you're interested - http://www.patientsacademy.eu/index.php/en/   It's a Europe-wide initiative, which is why the face to face training sessions are in Barcelona (all expenses paid by them!).  Why do I do these things to myself???!

So next week, the phone will be redirected on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to Richard Ouston, our Chairman, between 10am and 4pm, and to Lisa Welsh on Wednesday - same times.  So you can have a chat with them instead of me for a change!

REMINDER!  Annual Conference

Whether I'm in the office or not, NO bookings will be taken after 1st April - the online booking system will physically stop allowing bookings to be made after 10pm on the 1st!

Richard and Lisa will be able to take your bookings by phone before then, so, please - if you want to come, PLEASE book as soon as possible!  There is still plenty of space!

New member of staff (!)

Please congratulate Lisa Yeates, who works with me in the office, on the safe (but dramatic and speedy) arrival of her third daughter, Aimee Megan, on 19th March!  So speedy, the arrival, that she was delivered at home by her dad!!

Kings & Queens are looking for some tarts!

Your Summer Fundraiser theme is 'Wonderland' and we are looking for Tea Parties to rival the Mad Hatters.

Call us or email george@cmtuk.org.uk for your fundraising pack which will include all sorts of fundraising ideas for Spring and Summer Cake, Muffin and Tea parties.

(Did you know Alice in Wonderland was published 150 years ago?)

Legacies
Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease is hereditary, and passed down to our children.
With medical research at the forefront of our organisation, we stand a chance of finding a cure for the next generations.

Leaving a gift in your Will, no matter how large or small could help us to continue to fund vital research. This research will ensure a better future for our children.

Please contact George Brown, george@cmtuk.org.uk for more information about securing the future for CMT UK or go to http://cmt.org.uk/fundraising/leave-a-legacy/ for more details.

I hope all Full members have had a chance to check out the Member's Area of the website - if you have any problems with logging in whilst I'm away, please email Nigel Holland (who has developed the website for us) on nigel@mantisweb.co.uk and he'll sort it out for you!

I'm back on Good Friday, so normal service (ish!) will be resumed after Easter.

Have a wonderful Easter, and don't eat too much chocolate.

See you at the Conference, if you're coming!

Kind regards.

Karen
