Greetings!
We are officially on the Spring Season, says the weather man, but it seems like the weather has not looked out the window, as we're expecting yet another snow storm. Though, as the hopes for warmer weather raise, we get gentle reminders of nicer days to come when we start to see bulbs' green lush popping out the ground.
In the meantime, my encaustic mixed media relief, Breath of Life, has been juried into the 112th New Haven Paint & Clay Annual exhibition- there were nearly 400 pieces and only 100 were selected. I feel very honored to be part of such a selected group!
On the other hand, in between filing taxes and doing all the office work we all need to do from time to time, my teaching and demos, I'm squeezing in some studio time as well to continue to create work for my upcoming solo, at one of the gallery spaces at the Alexey Von Schlippe Gallery in Groton, CT. Be sure to save the date, June 7th-July 21st, 2013.
Also in June, I have been invited by Gallery One to participate in their upcoming group exhibition, at the Mill Gallery, in the Guilford Art Center, Guilford, CT. See details below.
The Encaustic Demo I gave at the Glastonbury Ar Guild, as part of their Got Art Series on March 13th, was great. I met a wonderful group of artists, and I loved their inquisitive questions. At the end, everyone seemed to have enjoyed my demo, and left eager to learn more about this wonderful medium and its versatility.
At the same time, my Encaustic workshops at the Arts Center at Killingworth have been received with open arms, and I just taught my third one there. I now offer different levels for those who want to learn more about the ancient technique of Encaustic painting. I'm scheduled again to teach an Intro and a level 3 workshops during their Spring semester. Hope to see some of you there!
Hoping Spring is just aROUND the corner, and looking forward to seeing you soon,
CORINA.-
P.S.: If you're interested in my classes and workshops, don't miss the coupons at the bottom of this newsletter. |

112th New Haven Paint & Clay Annual exhibition, New Haven, CT
March 24-April 14
The exhibition was juried by Helen K leisser During, Director of Visual Arts at the Westport Art Center.
The opening reception was this afternoon, and the exhibition looks beautiful, do try to stop by if you can and haven't done so already.
NOTE: I meant to send this invitation ahead of time, but my e-news server, Constant Contact, had some internal computer issues that didn't allowed me to finish this in time. They told me that it's already fixed, so hopefully this won't happen again. I apologize for the inconvenience.
