Anything is Possible Theatre announces a new musical theatre class for children ages 6-12 years! Children develop classic "triple threat" theater skills of singing, dancing and acting. Working with both original and well-known musical theater scripts, this class will help kids find their musical theatre skills regardless of prior experience. The class will be taught by Laura Ferri and Joseph Seserko, theater professionals with extensive experience teaching, directing and performing in musical theater. For information, call Ellen Cooper at 206-760-1336, or email cooper206@earthlink.net, or go to Anything Possible website.
SEEDArts/Rainier Valley Cultural Center is participating in Good Maker's Make Music Challenge to launch the new program, Rainier Rhythms: An Outdoor Global Music Event in Auguust. People from diverse cultures will work together to present global music from our own community. This free event will promote community and bring diverse families together to celebrate the many diverse cultures of Rainier Valley. In order to secure $2,500 to the project which garners the most votes, we are asking our friends to go to:http://makemusic.maker.good.is/projects/rainierrhythms and click on the "vote for this idea" button under the Rainier Rhythms title.

Bring Back Our Cinema Fundraising Campaign If you have been hoping Columbia City would once again have a 3-screen cinema showing the latest movies, now is the time to help! SEEDArts and the Columbia City Cinema Advisory Board are continuing our fundraising campaign to bring back the Columbia City Cinema. Imagine three of your favorite movies playing in one night, family films during the day plus midnight movies. The Cinema will be a program of SEEDArts and will continue to show first and second run movies every night in addition to independent and art house films, film festivals and educational film forums. Thanks to the 140 individuals and businesses that have donated to date, we now have a fighting chance to Bring Back Our Cinema with new management and sprinklers. Potential large foundation grants and donations are contingent on a signed lease so this is the first step in opening those and other doors in the fundraising community. Your contributions, of any size, are fully tax deductible and can be made securely online at SEEDArts Cinema webpage or by calling Jerri Plumridge at 206.760.4286. Please forward to all your friends and neighbors; we want to spread the word as widely as possible! See you at the movies soon... Friends of Art Walk Rainier Beach

About SEEDArts
SEEDArts is a program of SouthEast Effective Development and is the driving force behind the the creation of SE Seattle's two main arts/cultural facilities: the Rainier Valley Cultural Center (RVCC), our region's first performing arts center; and the Columbia City Gallery (CCG), a collective featuring the work of 30 local visual artists. SEEDArts also established the only major non-municipally funded public art program in Seattle. Our high-quality, accessible arts/cultural programs include: 1) performing arts and multicultural programs at RVCC, as well as cultural/arts education classes and camps for children and youth, some held off-site in conjunction with local schools and housing facilities; 2) visual arts exhibitions and related programs at CCG and 3) our Public Art Program, which has directed over $750,000 of resources (resulting in the creation of over 40 artworks) into streets, parks and open spaces of SE Seattle.
