March 2016 Edition

February has flown by and our residents were graced with wonderful visitors who delivered delicious meals and thoughtful gifts. We have secured a new fitness partnership with Bridgeport's Cardinal Shehan Center and thank Executive Director Terry O'Connor, Assistant Director Drew Carothers, and the entire staff for their dedication to the health of the men and women we serve .

In March, we look forward to a successful Fairfield County's Giving Day (March 9) and seeing 16 of our residents and "alums" make their debuts on the Fairfield University Quick Center stage as the curtain rises on WAR STORIES: A Veterans Project. Look for details of these events and more in this issue  of  The Perimeter

We are so proud of our current and former residents who are participating in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts' production of  WAR STORIES , a full-length (40 min.) production in which 16 of our men and women tell their courageous stories through therapeutic performance art.

Thanks to the CT Office of the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, Fairfield University was able to offer paid acting roles to each of its Homes for the Brave and FS:FH participants.

Giving Back
Throughout the past month, three generous organizations committed their support to our  Female Soldiers: Forgotten Heroes program. These generous gifts  enable us to help homeless female veterans develop the skills they need to make healthy transitions back into their communities. We thank our partners for continuing to serve the women who have served us all.
