Mother's Day

With Mother's Day at the end of this month there is still time to make a gift for your loved one or any mother you know who might appreciate a home crafted present.  We have chosen four of our favourites to share with you.

This  Ribbon Cowl by Frankie Brown is perfect for spring weather and features a lovely rainbow of shades. Frankie uses her patterns to raise funds for the  Children's Liver Disease Foundation.
How about an  African Flower Pincushion by Sandra Paul for the crafter in your life?  It's a great way to use up yarn leftovers.
We particularly love the  Spring Tulip Pattern by cheezombie  and are knitting loads of them to make a very special bouquet.
An old favourite among our team is the  Virus shawl / Virustuch by Julia Marquardt.  It is a bit of a bigger project than our other choices, but once you get the hang of it, it crochets up quite fast and is perfect for that special hank of yarn in your stash.

We have created a special Pinterest board with lots more inspiration for you here. If you know of any other  patterns that you have made for Mother's Day, please share them with us on our Facebook page .

Knit For Peace
Many of you will remember our first Designer Along which we held last year. Knitted and crocheted squares were shared by designers such as Debbie Bliss, Arne & Carlos, Erika Knight, Elena Fedotova, Debbie Abrahams and Jane Crowfoot as well as contributions from Knitting, Crochet Now, Inside Croceht, Simply Knitting, Let's Knit and Simply Crochet.  The campaign raised money for Knit For Peace and now we have made the e-book available so that you can get all the squares in one go in return for a donation of just £6.
If you want to support this amazing charity you will find the e-book here.
Sixty Million Trebles
Have  you have heard about a new record attempt to create the world's largest crochet blanket? It's called Sixty Million Trebles so we thought we would share some of the background with you over on our blog.
It's a great campaign to get involved with by yourself or with your knitting or crochet group.
