Celebrate Cleveland Star Trek Day -- Today!

Members of the starship USS Challenger, a West Park-based charity, invites everyone to P.J. McIntyre's Irish Pub, 17119 Lorain Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. to celebrate Cleveland Star Trek Day. Stop in any time to enjoy a tasty meal and beverage. Present the flyer here to your server, and 20% of your tab will be donated to the group's community service missions. Ward 17 Councilman Marty Keane will present the USS Challenger with a proclamation recognizing the group's valuable service to the community.

West Side High School Fair Offers Info on Options

Time is running out for 8th graders to make their high school choices for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD). Open enrollment closes March 13.

For help, visit the West Side High School Fair on Thursday, March 2, at John Marshall High School, 3952 West 140th Street. Information about west side and downtown tuition-free options will be featured, including public, private, and charter schools.

Enjoy music from DJ Bijou Star and tacos while they last from La Plaza Supermarket. The first 50 families through the door will receive a $20 gift card from Dave's Supermarket. Only in Clev Apparel Grand Opening Set for Saturday, March 4

Only in Clev Apparel at Kamm's Corners invites everyone to stop by the grand opening of their new Kamm's Corners location at 17025 Lorain Avenue, on Saturday, March 4, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Join local artist Shaun Kinley and help finish his exclusive new interactive canvas painting of the St. Patrick's Day Marching Band, depicting bagpipers leading the way with downtown scenery in the background.

Check out the large variety of custom Cleveland t-shirts, head gear, wall art, crafts, cards, candles, and more in the newly remodeled, 2,500-square-foot store. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

Spaghetti Dinner Raises Funds for Local Groups Supported by the West Park Kiwanis Club

The West Park Kiwanis Club holds its annual spaghetti dinner on Saturday, March 11, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at The Cretan Party Center. Each dinner includes a salad, roll and butter, dessert, and a beverage.

Tickets are available at the door for dining in or carrying out. Only $7 for adults, $3 for children 7 to 12, and no charge for children 6 and under. Support your community through this fun event. See the flyer here for all the details. 

Interested in joining the West Park Kiwanis Club? Visit a meeting on the first or third Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. at the Cretan Party Center, 3853 West 168th Street. Everyone is welcome.

West Park's 8th Annual, The Hooley on Kamm's Corners™  kicks off at noon on Saturday, May 13, and runs until 8 p.m. on Lorain Avenue. It's a day of live music, festival food, entertainment, and activities for all ages, presented by our organization: Kamm's Corners Development Corporation . Lorain Avenue will be closed to traffic from West 165th Street to Rocky River Drive.

Join Jig and Jog 5K and 1-Mile Walk in March

Friends and family are welcome to participate in "Jig and Jog," a 5k race and 1-mile walk through Kamm's Corners, on Saturday, March 25, at 10 a.m. The event begins and ends at West Park Station, 17015 Lorain Avenue, which is the host and title sponsor of the sixth annual event.
Proceeds will benefit the Senior Services Fund of KCDC.

That day, West Park Station offers lunch specials following the event and a watch party for the NCAA basketball tournament. The first 50 registrations will get $3 off the $20 registration for the race. The walk is $15. Click here to register for "Jig and Jog."

The First District Police Community Relations meeting is on Thursday March 2, at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church, 10205 Lorain Avenue, at 7 p.m. Meet new First District Commander Daniel Fay, and learn about efforts to keep the neighborhood safe. All are welcome.

KCDC is an official CIFF41 Illuminate media partner to help spread the word about the Cleveland International Film Festival season. Look for voucher give-aways via our Facebook and Twitter posts starting March 20. The festival runs from March 29 through April 9.                         

Join the Gunning Gators in a community spring clean up at Gunning Park Recreation Center, 16700 Puritas Avenue, on March 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Gators are a non-profit sports group comprised of cheerleaders and football players ages 6 to 16 who play at the center. Angels on the Avenue, an acting troupe with several members residing in West Park, will present Dead Men Tell No Tales on Saturday, March 25, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Cretan Party Center, 3853 West 168th Street.
