From the Director
KK for RFKC

It's hard to believe but the 10th Annual Bob and Barbara White Invitational is this month. Our team continues to work hard to make sure that we throw a great event. The response and support of our martial arts community has been over whelming and we are in position to help a lot of abused children see a better future.

That said it is never too late to help support the RFK. Your last minute donation may be what is needed to send an additional kid to camp.

Coach John Wooden said "You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you."

Here's hoping for a perfect weekend at the Bob and Barbara White Invitational. As always I leave you with three simple words;

"For the kids"

Volunteers Needed
In order to run as efficiently as possible, we need people to volunteer as judges, time keepers and score keepers.
We will hold a rules meeting at 1:00 PM on March 7 at Power of One Karate in Long Beach

We will also hold an officials meeting at 8:30 AM on March 22 before the tournament starts.

We encourage all school owners and interested competitors to attend. This is your chance to understand the rules and ask questions of the tournament directors.

If you are willing to volunteer your time to officiate please email the officials coordinator, Gordon Alexander.
Rules Change
New for 2015

In order to have consistency with other tournaments, The 2015 Bob and Barbara White Invitational will feature some new individual sparring rules. These include:

  • Matches will be 2 minutes or the first to 10 points.
  • 2 points will be awarded for controlled kicks to the head.
  • The groin is NOT a target

Please note that all competitors must have the required protective equipment. In addition we strongly request that all participants wear full uniforms while competing.

We encourage you to attend the rules meeting so that all judges and participants have a chance to ask questions and understand the rules.
