March 2018

Thursday and Friday, March 15th & 16th
Lucky us! In recognition of having the BEST parents worldwide, we are setting aside these two days to thank you. We could hardly have this much fun without parents who are involved in their children’s education. Thank you for everything from special snacks to assisting in the classrooms. In conjunction with our theme, “God’s Wild Kingdom,” we are providing a grab and go surprise at the “Stepping Stones Watering Hole.” We hope to have the opportunity to thank each of you personally. It’s a jungle in here!

Send your “Lucky Charms” to our next Parent's Night Out on Friday, March 2nd, from 5:30-8:30! Our "themed" Parent's Night Out will be a fabulous night of dinner and St. Patty’s activities for all ages, 12 months and walking through 5th grade! Cost is $12 per child with a $30 cap per family. Please register by Wednesday, February 28th.

Monday, March 19th 9:30-11:30am
Have you always wanted to go to a petting zoo, but there isn’t one close? We have the perfect solution! The Moo-ving Ranch is a mobile petting zoo where they are able to bring small, loving farm animals right to our school. We are looking forward to seeing and touching sheep, goats, bunnies, chickens and a miniature donkey, horse, cow and pig! Whoo hoo! They are licensed and insured! Spring is in the air!
This section of our newsletter is for friendly reminders and miscellaneous school information.
*We would like to remind you that children are not allowed to climb the trees on the church property. This is for the safety of your child and the health of the trees.
*Please remember that tuition is due by the 1st of each month and late by the 10th. A $20 late fee will be added to your account if payment is not received by the 10th. Thank you for your promptness.
*If you are called to pick up a sick child from school, please make arrangements to be here within a 30 minute time frame.
*Our proposed school calendar for 2018-2019 is now available online.
*Please return or replace underwear borrowed from the school when your child has had an accident.
*Due to new Department of Children and Family regulations we are required to call each parent when your child is absent from school. PLEASE NOTIFY THE SCHOOL OR YOUR CHILD’S TEACHER IF YOUR CHILD IS ABSENT FROM SCHOOL.

It’s a new season! Parents don’t forget to send a change of clothes appropriate for the warmer months. Please give these to your teacher in a sealed and labeled plastic bag as soon as possible. Although sandals are cute and cool this season, they are not ideal for running and climbing on the playground. We recommend tennis shoes for safety and maximum exercise.

Let’s take a walk on the wild side! Please join us on Friday, April 13th, at 5:30pm for a night of food, fun, and fellowship! This night is to celebrate the fantastic year we have had at Stepping Stones! Since we can’t bring the wild animals to us…we will go to them. This event will be held at the Santa Fe Zoo, located at 3000 NW 83rd Street. There will be no entrance fee for our families this night.
You will have 2 options for dinner. The first option is to bring your own dinner and eat on the picnic tables provided (or bring a blanket and lawn chairs.) The second option is to order from the Santa Fe food truck, Mayflower Sellers. Their menu is listed below. They do provide kid friendly portions and prices.
There is no set schedule to having fun on this night. To avoid long lines at the food truck, some of our families may wish to visit the zoo first and then have dinner.
“Swing” on by and enjoy an evening with both two-legged and four-legged animals. Let the monkey business begin! Oo! Oo! Ah! Ah!
