Legislation News

Energy Efficient home legislation passes
Commissioner Diaz's  PACE legislation won final approval on March 8 at the Board of County Commission meeting, allowing homes to be more energy-efficient. His legislation will make the Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program available to property owners in unincorporated Miami-Dade County. PACE, a voluntary program available in many cities across the United States, provides municipal government financing to participating homeowners for energy efficiency upgrades or renewable energy installations such as solar panels and improved insulation. Homeowners are then assessed annually through their property tax bills for the improvements.
