2017 MIC Prayer Breakfast Highlights
Rev. Floyd Thompkins (Center for Innovation in Ministry at San Francisco Theological Seminary), Rabbi Stacy Friedman (Congregation Rodef Sholom), and Imam Fasih (Islamic Center of North Marin), brought 165 appreciative, enthusiastic attendees to their feet at the 18th Annual MIC Prayer Breakfast.
A deep thank you to our phenomenal speakers, whose humor, insight, passion and eloquence encouraged a life of prayer, marked by love and justice-making. Here are some highlights:
Rabbi Stacy Friedman, Congregation Rodef Sholom
We're singing, working and praying together. We're going to sing ourselves all the way to freedom and peace.
Imam Fasih, Islamic Center of North Marin
Our gathering here is a direct response to those who say we cannot coexist together. What God wants for us is co-existence.
Rev. Floyd Thompkins, Center of Innovation in Ministry, San Francisco Theological Seminary
The very fact that we are part of creation and the social matrix means we have power.
When you leave this place, and intimidation happens, and you are cussing at the TV and throwing your IPad against the wall, remember, God has not given you a spirit of fear and temerity, but a spirit of power, love and a sound mind...the power of existence, the strength of love, and the discipline of faith, which is perseverance.
