Doors opening again April 2018

Last Sunday Bird Walks

Join us Sunday January 28th

Mamaroneck and Larchmont parks boast a wide variety of bird species throughout the year. The Marine Education Center and the Committee for the Environment would like the community to come learn what’s flying throughout your neighborhood this season! The walk will start out at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck then move to a second Mamaroneck or Larchmont location to be announced the morning of the walk. Birding programs are open to all skill levels and beginner birders are welcome. We have a limited number of binoculars to share, so please bring your own binoculars if you can.

Meet us at the Marine Education Center at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck, located on the left just past the parking booth. Parking is free at this time. If anyone is interested in exploring the birds of our region, please contact Phil Horner at [email protected] .

If you would like our Naturalist, Kyle Troy to come visit your school, troop, birthday party or other event, we offer a variety of programs for all ages with live marine animals available for presentation. Additionally, if you would like to have your school, troop, or camp have an in-house presentation at the Marine Education Center, our doors open to the public in April 2018.

Volunteer at the

Marine Education Center

If you are over the age of 14 and would like to volunteer at the Marine Education Center we will be offering hours to those interested starting in April. Limited positions available for working in the Marine Education Center. Volunteers must be interested in education, must be personable and able to talk to the public, willing to learn about the Long Island Sound and willing to get dirty!

We are always looking for volunteers on our weekly clean-ups along Harbor Island Park! With volunteers help this year we have cleaned up over 600 pounds of trash out of the Mamaroneck Harbor.
