Pan Am’s Legacy Lives Again
The Gala Opening of Phase 1 of the Pan Am Museum
Dear World Wingers:
It’s really happening! Pan Am’s storied past will become a present-day reality at the Inaugural Clipper Gala that will open the Pan Am Museum on December 3, 2016 at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, Long Island.
In just a year, the founders of this exceptional project raised just over $100,000 and put together the first phase of the museum exhibit, The B-314 Flying Boat, one of many pioneering Pan Am accomplishments. We know you will want to be there to celebrate the launch of the first of four exhibits. Once completed, the B-314 Flying Boat Exhibit will be joined by three legendary Boeing aircraft, the Stratocruiser, the B-707 and the B-747.

The legendary Boeing 314 will be featured in Phase I of the museum exhibit and open to guests at the Inaugural Gala.

Our Place In History
We all are privileged to have been part of Pan Am’s history. Many of us were flying when Pan Am ushered in the Jet Age with the first 707 and pioneered the launch of the 747.
Thanks to World Wings, we have remained a part of the Pan Am Family. Now, with this singular new project, spearheaded by a group of dedicated Pan Am employees, including several leading members of World Wings, we can again celebrate our beloved airline’s achievements that changed the world forever.
Eight World Wings Chapters have each donated at least $1000 to become Founding Members of the Pan Am Museum and many individual World Wingers have supported our efforts with generous donations. To date, we have 62 founding members who have donated $1000 or more to the Foundation.
Mark a Milestone
The Inaugural Clipper Gala will mark a milestone in Pan Am’s proud history. Many World Wings members will be present to see the new museum and to honor several well-known Pan Amers representing specific employee groups. They include author Mary Higgins Clark, Flight Service; Captain John Marshall, Pilots; Ron Marasco, Maintenance, Trenton Fleming, Passenger Service and Dolores Hoffman, Cargo, who was the first woman forklift operator at JFK.
Tickets are a very reasonable $180 per person and $100 of this is tax-deductible – we are a proud 501 (c)(3) charity, registered in the State of New York. The program includes cocktails, dinner, special presentations and a silent auction with fabulous prizes! Don’t Wait!!!
Hotel Bookings
You have until November 30 to purchase your ticket to this historic event. However, there is less time left to book a room at one of the three hotels offering special rates (blocked rooms) for the night of December 3. Rates range from $159 to $199 per room. You must book rooms at these rates by November 4, 2016. You can book both tickets to the Gala and reserve hotel accommodations from our website, www.thepanammuseum.org or on the website set up just for the Gala, www.panamgala.org.

Cradle of Aviation Museum
The Cradle of Aviation Museum is part of Nassau County's Museum Row and is located on Charles Lindbergh Blvd. in East Garden City next to Nassau Community College.
Driving Directions:
Meadowbrook Parkway to exit M4, follow signs to Museum Row which will put you on Charles Lindbergh Blvd., stay on Charles Lindbergh Blvd. to the second traffic light and turn right into the parking lot.
Public Transportation:
Bus
: The N16, N45, and N51 buses stop several blocks from the Museum at Nassau Community College.
Train
: Take the LIRR to Garden City, Mineola or Westbury; taxis are available to the Museum from each of these stations.

Mary Higgins Clark
, #1 international and New York Times bestselling author and former Pan Am Stewardess will join us for the evening and be honored representing the Pan Am Stewardesses. She has written thirty-four suspense novels; three collections of short stories; a historical novel; two children’s books; and a memoir. Captain John Marshall
, esteemed Pan Am Pilot and Manager of Flight Standards who brought in Pan Am's last flight on December 4, 1991 from Sao Paulo, will be honored representing the Pan Am Pilots. Captain Marshall is also a prolific aviation author and has been published often in AIRWAYS magazine. Silent Auction
The Silent Auction features a week in Vieques, Puerto Rico; sailing on the Chesapeake; and a two-night stay in a centrally located NYC condo, among other enticing items! More Silent Auction items are needed to boost our fundraising, and all those who can contribute items to be auctioned are encouraged to do so! Overseas vacations; gift cards for shopping, restaurants or spas; art work; jewelry; stays at hotels; tickets to the theater, ballet, sporting events in New York; a catered tea or dinner by a group of Flight Attendants -- use your imagination and help raise money for the Pan Am Museum!
