APPLES
QUALITY: GOOD
SUPPLY: MODERATE

Red Delicious remain somewhat active with light volumes being seen from the new crop and strong demand. Golden Delicious, Granny Smith and Galas are steady with better availability; sizes larger than 100ct remain limited. Fujis steady as supplies improve (peaking 88/100ct), as are Honeycrisps (peaking 64ct-100ct). Jonagolds and Braeburns have begun in a limited capacity. Pink Ladies should start by beginning of next week. 

ASPARAGUS
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is fairly steadying as supplies from Mexico and Peru continue to improve on a daily basis with relatively flat demand. Large sizes will likely remain limited through the end of the year.

AVOCADOS QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: SHORT

Market continues to ease as demand decreases, however, larger fruit remains limited. Quality is excellent. 

BERRIES
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: SHORT

Markets are easing as overall supply and quality begin to improve thanks to cooler temperatures. Blueberries continue to have the least availability due to transition. Heat damage, bruising and decay remain the most commonly encountered defects among berries.    

BROCCOLI
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: SHORT
Market is easing as supplies improve, however, brown bead and hollow core remain a commonly reported defect.

CARROTS
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is somewhat active as Jumbo carrots continue to have increasingly limited availability. 


CAULIFLOWER
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: SHORT

Market is easing, though supplies remain limited due to recent weather conditions. Sizing, yellowing and discoloration continue to be the most commonly reported defects.


CELERY
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady, but quality remains a concern. Inconsistent sizing, discoloration are among the most commonly reported defects.


CUCUMBERS
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady as supplies become available from multiple regions, however, quality remains fair.

EGGPLANT
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady as volume and quality continue to improve. 

GRAPES
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Red seedless varieties remain steady as green market begins to gain strength with decreasing availability. Quality remains good.


LETTUCE
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: SHORT

Markets remain active as supplies of Green and Red Leaf remain tight with fringe burn remaining the most commonly reported defect. Iceberg and Romaine markets continue to also be unsettled during transition. Relief is not expected to be seen until Huron (1-2 weeks out) and Yuma (4-6 weeks out) begin. Quality remains fair for all with ribbiness, seeder, insect damage and twisting.


LEMONS
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market continues to settle as supply and quality improve thanks to the new crop. Quality is good.  

LIMES
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady as volumes continue to increase out of CA and Mexico. Quality has improved.

MELONS
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Honeydew and Cantaloupe markets are steady with good supply. The quality of CA melons remain a concern, but AZ should begin ramping up within the next two weeks. Watermelon volumes remain light out of CA, but Mexican supplies seem to be picking up the slack with good quality being seen. 


ONIONS
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market remains steady as harvesting wraps up. Yellow and Super Colossals are expected to be lighter this season. Quality is good. 


ORANGES
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: SHORT

Demand continues to exceed supply as Valencias begin wrap up for the season with historically low supplies of smaller fruit. Relief will not be seen until Navel season starts late Oct. 

PEPPERS
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market fairly steady despite declining volumes of green bells and the upcoming transition of colored bells.


PINEAPPLES
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady. Quality remains good.


POTATOES
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady. Burbanks will be widely available by late October. Reds, Whites, Yukons and Yams all have good quality and supply. 


SQUASH
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is fairly steady as supplies and quality improve. Santa Maria has finished, leaving Mexico as the primary producer.



TOMATOES
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: SHORT

Cherry and Grape Tomato markets are leveling out as demand softens. Roma and Round markets remain somewhat active as supplies remain lighter, however, consistent Mexican shipments coupled with lower demand continues to provide relief.
