APPLES
QUALITY: GOOD
SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady with good quality being seen among all varieties. With the exception of Galas and Golds all are old crop fruit, with the upcoming crops looking very good so far. 

ASPARAGUS
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady. Supplies remain good out of Peru, while Mexican supplies continue to drop. Jumbos are limited. 

AVOCADOS QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: SHORT

The market is still active, however, Mexican (peaking 48ct and smaller) and Peruvian (peaking 48ct and larger) volumes are increasing. Quality is improving, but will arrive green, take longer to ripen and potentially have a lighter flavor. CA quality is good with high oil content. 

BERRIES
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: MODERATE

Markets are relatively steady with good quality being seen overall, however, heat is playing a role in inconsistent sizing and texture. Demand is increasing due to Labor Day pull. 

BROCCOLI
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: SHORT
Market remains somewhat strong, however, CA quality is improving with some light purpling, which is expected this time of year and Mexican volumes are also slowly improving. Quality remains fair to good out of both regions. 

CARROTS
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady. Quality is good with no major concerns.

CAULIFLOWER
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market remains fairly steady. Quality is fair to good overall with under-sizing, discoloration and bruising being the most reported defects.



CELERY
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady. Good quality overall with occasional light discoloration and mildew being reported. 

CUCUMBERS
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: SHORT

Market is active. Mexico is struggling with quality and condition and Baja production is gapping; quality is fair due to high temps. Expect product to remain short the next two weeks.

EGGPLANT
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market remains active as supplies tighten due to heavy rains having kept growers out of the fields and strong demand. All domestic production is extremely limited. Quality is fair.

GRAPES
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady with good quality and no major concerns being reported.


LETTUCE
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: MODERATE

Iceberg quality is fair to good with some mildew, underweight heads, misshape, puffiness, and jumbo sizing. Leaf quality is good with seeder, ribbiness, and insect damage. Romaine quality is fair to good with wind damage, fringe burn, seeder, and insect damage. Lighter plantings and a stronger iceberg market are pushing the market upward. Spring mix quality is fair, weak texture is contributing to mechanical damage with fewer components available.


LEMONS
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: SHORT

Demand continues to exceed supplies on all sizes as volumes plummet due to poor quality and high temps. Heat has caused some fruit to start dropping from the trees. Supplies are likely to be unsettled for another 2-3 months.

LIMES
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market remains relatively steady, with fair quality being reported. Most defects are cosmetic only. Larger sized fruit is limited.

MELONS
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Cantaloupe, Honeydew and Watermelon are fairly steady, however, weather fluctuations could strengthen the market this week. Quality remains good overall. 

ONIONS
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Markets remain steady with good quality. 


ORANGES
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: SHORT

Demand is exceeding supply as CA summer Valencias move forward into fall. Re-greening and soft fruit are being reported. 



PEPPERS
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady as domestic production increases for both Green and Colored peppers. Quality has improved. 


PINEAPPLES
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is steady. Quality remains good.


POTATOES
QUALITY: GOOD SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market remains steady with good supply and quality. 

SQUASH
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: MODERATE

Market is strengthening. CA supplies are light on Italian and limited on yellow squash; quality is fair to good.



TOMATOES
QUALITY: FAIR SUPPLY: MODERATE

Markets are strengthening a growers struggle to keep pace with the market due to extreme heat and increased demand. Bloom drop will be a factor in the coming  weeks with respect to overall availability and quality.
