Cherry  supplies extremely limited as the Northwest cherry season come to an end.

Cilantro  market extremely active due to quality issues (burn & black spotting) in Mexico brought about by warm temperatures. Salinas Valley and Oxnard under pressure to meet demand.

Raspberry  demand exceeds supply. Relief not expected until mid-August when California and Baja begin production in August.


Avocado demand continues to exceed supplies. Supplies on all sizes are limited, especially for 48ct and larger.
 
 Commodity Report

Apples/Pears
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Apples:  Red Delicious (peaking 72/80/88ct), Golden Delicious (peaking 100/113ct) and Granny-Smiths (peaking 88-113ct) markets remain fairly steady. Galas (peaking 88-113ct) and Fuji (peaking 80-100ct) markets are firm, as supplies drastically decrease. Pink Lady's are also fairly firm due to strong demand. Quality remains good among all varieties.

Pears:  D'anjous are steady with increased demand (peaking 70/80/90ct), but supplies are becoming limited as their season come to an end. Bartletts are also steady (peaking 90/100/110ct). Imported Bosc's (peaking 70-100ct) are remain steady. Quality is good among all varieties.
 
Asparagus
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market remains steady with good supplies being seen out of Mexico. Quality is good throughout all regions. 

Avocados
Quality: Good
Supply: Short
    
The market seems to have reached is peak in regard to 48ct and larger, while 60ct and smaller has begun to decline somewhat. Volume and sizing continues to be the driving force behind these market swings.California harvest is not expected to wrap up until mid-September. Mexico has increased import volumes now that the new crop season has started. Quality remains good.

Broccoli
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market remains fairly steady. Quality is good with great crown size and minimal yellowing.

Cauliflower
Quality: Fair
Supply: Moderate
 
Market is once again steady with plentiful supplies being seen out of Salinas and Santa Maria. Quality is good with minimal bruising being reported.
 
Cantaloupes
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
  
Market is steady as the West Side produces greater volumes. Quality remains excellent.

Carrots
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market is steady. Bakersfield is in full production. Jumbo volumes are steadily improving and baby peeled supplies are good. 
 
Celery
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market is steady. Salinas and Santa Monica are in full production. Quality out of both regions is good, though there has been some bow, pitch, bruising and flagging showing up. 
     
Cucumbers
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate

Market is steady with good quality and condition being seen out of Northern Baja, though coloring is fair.
 
Eggplant
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate

Market is steady. Quality is improving out of Coachella as temperatures drop. Fresno is producing good volume and quality. Cosmetic issues are steadily improving.
 
Grapes
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate

Green: Market is steady, with adequate supplies. Quality remains good. 

Red: Market is steadying, as supplies improve. Quality is good.
 
Honeydews
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market is fairly steady. Despite the heat, good supplies are being seen out of Arizona and California. Overall quality remains good.

Iceberg
Quality: Fair
Supply: Moderate

Market is once again steady. Defects include puffy, light weight product. Supplies are expected to be somewhat inconsistent over the next few weeks.

Leaf Lettuce
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate

Market is unchanged. Supplies are steady, but defects including insect damage, fringe burn, wind burn, internal burn and mildew are fairly consistent among all leaf items. 

Lemons
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate

Market is firm. Ventura is the primary supplier, with the central valley having wrapped up. Demand remains very strong. 140/165/200ct are limited. Quality remains good.
    
Limes
Quality: Good
Supply: Short
 
Market is firm as strong demand continues to be seen across all sizes. Crop is still peaking on smaller sizes. Quality remains good.
 
Onions
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market steady on reds and whites, however, Colossal Yellows and larger out of New Mexico are becoming extremely scarce. Quality overall remains good.
   
Oranges
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market remains steady as valencia (peaking 88/113/138ct) volumes increase and navels (peaking 56/72/88) wind down. Some growers are still struggling to find labor for harvest. Overall quality remains good. 

Peppers (Colored)
Quality: Fair
Supply: Moderate
 
Market is volatile reds gap. Recent heat has had a large negative impact crops out of Coachella.

Peppers (Green)
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market is steady, though recent heat has had a large negative impact on crops out of Coachella.

Market remains somewhat steady, though supplies are declining. Volume expected to pick back up in July. Quality remains good.

Market remains steady, though heat has had an impact on quality. Product is now shipping from Coachella Valley (mostly large Italian and Yellow being harvested). Quality varies due to heat, though product out of Fresno appears to be improving.

Market is fairly level with adequate supplies. Quality continues to improve.
 
Tomatoes

Rounds - Market is volatile. Quality will vary due to heat.
