Apples/Pears
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Apples:  Red Delicious (peaking 72/88ct) are relatively steady, but limited on smaller fruit. Golden Delicious continue to struggle with light supply due to strong demand and lower than expected crop volume.  Granny-Smiths (peaking 88-113ct) also continue to gain strength due to heightened demand and lighter supply, though the new crop will provide relief shortly. Galas (peaking 72/80/88/100ct) are steady with greater availability on larger sizes. Honeycrisps (peaking 48-64ct) remain steady. Quality remains good among all varieties.

Pears:  Bartletts (peaking 80-100ct), Bosc (peaking 80/90ct) and D'anjou (peaking 90/100ct) are steady out of Washington. Crimsons are nearly finished for the season. 
 
Asparagus
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market remains steady with good availability on all sizes. Volums are increasing out of Northern Baja Mexico as weather improves. Peruvian volumes are expected to increase heavily over the next few weeks.

Avocados
Quality: Fair
Supply: Short
    
Market is extremely volatile as Mexican disputes and harvest disruptions continue. With domestic product running out and roughly half a month of minimal harvesting taking place in Mexico, availability is uncertain. Quality varies.

Broccoli
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market gaining strength as harvesting begins to decline in Salinas. This trend is expected to continue until the transition to Yuma is completed (est. mid-November). Quality remains good.

Cauliflower
Quality: Good
Supply: Short
 
Market is firming as supplies decline. While Salinas and Santa Maria Valley harvests are ahead of schedule, cooler than normal temperatures have slowed growth. Overall quality remains good. 
 
Cantaloupes
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
  
Market is steadier. Demand has leveled out, allowing supplies to catch up somewhat. West Side growing regions are nearing the end of their season with the desert having already begun in a small way. Quality and availability on all sizes remain good.  

Carrots
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market remains unchanged. The Central Valley continues to produce a healthy percentage of Jumbos. Quality is excellent. 
 
Celery
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market is unchanged. Salinas and Santa Monica are in full production. Quality out of both regions is good.
     
Cucumbers
Quality: Fair
Supply: Moderate

Market is fairly steady as quality and supply improve now that fresh crops out of Northern Mexico have come online. 
 
Eggplant
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate

Market is unchanged with good volumes being seen out of the San Joaquin Valley. Quality is good overall with minimal scaring and misshapen product being reported.
 
Grapes
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate

Green: Market remains active as Thompson and Autumn King supplies drop off. 

Red: Market remains fairly steady with adequate supplies, though this could turn at any moment given weakening green grape supplies.
 
Honeydews
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market is leveling out. With the desert ramping up and Mexico preparing to export, you can expect consistent supplies with good quality in the coming weeks.

Iceberg
Quality: Fair
Supply: Moderate

Market remains fairly steady with adequate supplies. However, warm temperatures are beginning to affect quality. Yuma is expected to begin production within the next 2-3 weeks.

Leaf Lettuce
Quality: Fair
Supply: Moderate

Market is gaining strength as growers see lower yields than expected. Quality issues brought about by the recent high temperatures are beginning to surface for all leaf items. 

Lemons
Quality: Good
Supply: Short

Market remains volatile as demand continues to exceed supply. Ventura crop is wrapping up, while relief from the desert crop that recently started, is not expected to be seen for another month or so. Mexico is struggling to meet the increased demand brought about by California's declining volumes and Chilean supplies are declining.
    
Limes
Quality: Fair
Supply: Short
 
Market steadying somewhat new crops are now being harvesting (peaking 230ct); demand remains fairly strong on all sizes. Quality is steadily improving. 

Onions
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market remains unchanged. Washington, Idaho and Oregon are steady on all colors, with larger sizes being most readily available. Overall quality remains good.
   
Oranges
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market remains active as demand continues to exceed supply on 113ct and 138ct. Overall quality remains good. Navels will not be available to relieve the market until the end of October/early November. 

Peppers (Colored)
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market is fairly steady as quality and supply improve. Better availability of Red and Yellow bells are being seen out of Fresno, though Reds will soon begin their transition to Southern California. Quality of Yellows is fair-good. 

Peppers (Green)
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market is somewhat volatile as the Central Valley begins to wrap up prior to transitioning down to Southern California. 
 
Pineapples
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
  
Market is fairly steady despite light supplies. Overall quality is good, with supplies expected to steadily improve as the month progresses.
 
Potatoes
Quality: Good
Supply: Moderate
 
Market is steady throughout all regions. Quality and supply remain good.

Squash
Quality: Fair
Supply: Moderate
 
Market remains steady now that the new fields in Santa Maria and Nogales ramp up. Quality on both Italian and Yellow S/N are steadily improving. 

Strawberries

Supply: Moderate
 
Market is steady as production increases out of Oxnard, while all other regions' production volumes remain steady. Overall quality remains good with minimal issues being reported. 
 
Tomatoes
Quality: Fair
Supply: Moderate
 
Rounds - Market is active as California struggles to keep up with heightened demand. Weather conditions hampering production across the nation will play a major role in the markets direction throughout the week. Quality remains fair to good.

Roma -  Market active as Baja and Central California try to meet demand from customers across the nation. Quality varies.

Cherry - Market active as Baja struggles to meet increased demand. Florida is beginning limited production. Quality varies.

Grape - Market active with light volumes being seen out of all western regions. Little relief is expected in the short-term as demand increases nationally and Florida has yet to reach full production capabilities. Quality varies.
