NOTICE TO TRADE CONTRACTORS
REQUEST FOR TRADE CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS
The MASSACHUSETTS PORT AUTHORITY is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from TRADE CONTRACTORS interested in performing trade work for M425-C2, SOUTH BOSTON WATERFRONT TRANSPORTATION CENTER. The Authority is seeking Qualification Statements from Trade Contractors who have a demonstrated experience in the construction and implementation of similar work in terms of scale and complexity as required for the SOUTH BOSTON WATERFRONT TRANSPORTATION CENTER, D STREET, SOUTH BOSTON, MA. In accordance with Massachusetts construction manager at-risk requirements, MGL Chapter 149A Section 8, Qualification Statements are being requested from trade contractors capable of performing the following classes of work: Waterproofing, Damp-proofing & Caulking.

Massport hosts second session of the
Massachusetts Integrated BIM Approach (MIBA)
On Thursday, June 16th, Massport hosted the second session of the Massachusetts Integrated BIM Approach (MIBA) working group. Joe Barra, of Robinson + Cole, led the discussion regarding BIM contract language as outlined in the Massport BIM Exhibit document for both CM at Risk and Design Build projects. Participants from DCAMM, MBTA, MSBA, UMASS Amherst, MassDOT, Massport, MSCBA, BSA BIM Roundtable, AGC, and CMAA took part in the discussion concerning fundamental and legal issues, software limitations and standardization, and risk.
The next MIBA session will take place in September at AGC of MA's headquarters in Wellesley. The program will focus on collective BIM project experience presentations and discussion to include A/E and Contractor teams who have experience working with one or more of the represented agencies.

AGC MA Announces New HR Committee
AGC MA Human Resources Committee will provide an opportunity for networking with other professionals in the construction industry and address topics relevant to HR operations. The Committee will serve as a forum for sharing best practices in areas such as recruiting and retention of staff, proper uses of technology and social media in the workplace, addressing conflicts and allegations of improprieties among employees, compensation standards, and many more. Experienced professionals from AGC members as well as outside speakers would be welcomed to share insights on topics such as personal leave policies and legal requirements (e.g. the Massachusetts Sick Leave Law), useful software and record-keeping strategies, employee handbook materials, interviewing techniques, etc.

Lean Construction Program Series
