Kendal Bortles is a Colorado native that grew up dancing in Boulder.
She started dancing at the age of 4 with ballet and tap classes. As soon as she got to middle school she joined Expressions Dance Company in Boulder and expanded her dance background into Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Ballet. After 3 years competing with Expressions and getting a chance to attend workshops in Denver and Las Vegas she tried out for the Boulder High Poms team her sophomore year. She danced for 3 years on the poms team, earned awards at camp and traveled to Florida for nationals, she became captain her senior year and won Choreographer awards throughout.
After high school she took time off to attend college at the Art Institute of Co for her BA in Photography. Missing dance in her life for 4 years she was now old enough to audition for her first professional dance team- Denver Bronco Cheerleaders. She didn't make it her first year and came back the 2nd year even stronger and more determined. She beat out 300 girls and made it to finals both years (top 60 girls) but came up short. She decided to audition more time and successfully made it her 3 time! She has been a Denver Broncos Cheerleader since April and this season has already been an amazing rookie year for her!
