This Weekend
A House of Blessings (Ephesians 1:4),
A Note From Tom Petter on Our Current Preaching Series
This series in Ephesians (into the month of June) identifies TCC as a 'House of Blessing.' We have received 'every spiritual blessings' in Christ (Eph. 1:3), which in turn allows us to be a blessing to the people the Lord places on our path.  The goal of the series is to continue to articulate of model of church life that is anchored in the 21st Century of church life here in Metro-West.  This context of pluralistic belief systems in a self-sufficient setting parallels the setting in 1st Century Asia Minor, and Ephesus in particular.  We too are surrounded by impressive 'temples' (as the temple of Artemis was) and power structures the people of God can never compete with.  The blessing of TCC is therefore not quantified with traditional metrics.  Paul calls us to measure 'growth' in terms of our own walk with the Lord and whether we are 'infants' or 'adults' in the Lord. Typical models of church growth become irrelevant unless we nurture our own spiritual growth. God is calling us to a deeper commitment to discipleship in the Word and with one another. When people walk out of the building into their God-given sphere of influence, they become themselves a 'house of blessing,' a source of blessing in the same way the patriarchs were a blessing to those around them (e.g., Abraham, Jacob and Joseph).

Preaching, Missions Moment and Ministry Spotlight this Sunday
Kyle Smethurst, TCC's Student Ministries Pastor , will preach this Sunday. Kyle's sermon is based on scripture from Ephesians 4:1-16. During both services there will be a Missions Moment featuring Dr. E. Velayutham, Executive Director of India Bible Literature, and a Ministry Spotlight by Su Bohall highlighting the upcoming PF reunion.

Volunteer Opportunities

TCC runs on volunteers! Please visit the TCC "How to Serve" webpage at http://www.tccwayland.org/serve.php for more information.   Here are a few current opportunities:

Greeting Ministry
We are re-launching our Sunday Greeter Ministry. If you would like to serve as a Greeter on Sunday mornings, email [email protected].

Additional Ushers Still Needed...
Our mission:   To welcome every visitor and member to the house of God!

What is needed : Ushers are absolutely critical in helping newcomers form their first impression of TCC. You help set the tone for the worship experience to come. You are representatives of God's kingdom.  You're not just opening doors, providing information, handing out bulletins or collecting the offering, you are making people feel welcome!

Could you help ONE  Sunday morning a month?  Please contact Debbie Wilson at [email protected] or 508-358-7717.

Volunteer Offering Counters Needed ...
Are you accurate and reliable?  Volunteers count the weekly offering (mostly checks for deposit) each Sunday, and we are in need of new helpers.  Offering counters work in pairs.  Contact Aimee Mury at [email protected] or 508- 358-7717, x303 if this might be a way you could help us.  Training provided!

Coffee Hour needs YOU!
If you enjoy having a cup of coffee while chatting with others between Sunday services, please sign-up (alone or with your Small Group) to host a coffee hour!   You don't even have to provide snacks - just make, set up and then clean up the coffee and tea ! ( Easy instructions provided - click here to see what is involved!)
Participation gives you and your group an opportunity to serve the Lord and is greatly appreciated by your fellow members.
Please sign up at the Connection Hub this Sunday or contact Robin Spinale, our new Coffee Hour Coordinator at [email protected]!

The TCC Food Pantry, Loaves & Fishes, is fully stocked and available for use. If you could use assistance with basic food items and non-perishable grocery items, please contact Debora Wilson in the church office.  Also, if you are aware of a relative or neighbor in need, please have them contact the TCC office.  Thank you all for your contributions and support to Loaves & Fishes.

If you have any questions regarding donations, contact Diane or David Newcomb at [email protected] or [email protected]
