Announcements

Work Continues on Phase 1 of the "Restoring in Faith" Project
Work continues on Phase 1 of the Facilities Master Plan as voted on by the congregation last spring.  The "new building" is currently being retrofitted with office space, with the bulk of the work taking place on the second floor.  Workers are generally in the building from 7A-3P, M-F, and hope to have this project wrapped up within 6 weeks. The Staff will move over to the new space this summer, once all work is complete and the church schedule has "calmed" down.
We will continue to do our very best to work around the everyday needs of the church, but are asking everyone to please extend extra grace, mercy and flexibility during this time.   If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Debbie Wilson at [email protected] .

Capital Campaign - "Restoring in Faith"
We have already received over $110K for Phase 1 of this project.  Will you prayerfully consider donating to this first phase of the campaign?  If you would like to make a pledge or donation, please contact Aimee Mury at [email protected]  or Debbie Wilson at [email protected].  If writing a check, please include "Restoring in Faith" in the memo line.

Paul Church Update
Many TCC members continue to inquire about Paul's status in the wake of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) decision last December.  Paul is still practicing part-time out of his office ( paulchurchurology.com); however he remains under scrutiny from the licensing board, has lost all hospital privileges, and therefore can no longer perform surgeries. In June and July, he will go up against the Faulkner Hospital in an attempt to restore his appointment there. The Mass Family Institute and the Christian Medical and Dental association (CMDA) support him and the CMDA recently posted a web story including his case at https://cmda.org/resources/publication/the-healthcare-inquisition.  Paul asks for continued prayer support especially over the next few months as he prepares and presents his case.

What's Happening in Preschool LTA

This May, our preschoolers are learning about friendship.  Our Bible verse this month is, "Two people are better than one.  They can help each other in everything they do."  Ecclesiastes 4:9 NIrV

A note from First Look ...
I'm so thankful for all of the friendships God has put in my kids' lives. And even more thankful God has helped me see the importance of these friendships so I can support them. To be honest, it would be easier to just go about my to-do list, but they need me to help them have good friends and to learn how to be a good friend.

Yes, God made us to need good friends and to be a good friend. God knew in His infinite wisdom that two really are better than one.  Friends help one other, comfort one another, and cheer for one another. They encourage you when you're feeling down, speak truth when you need to hear it, and are ready to celebrate the blessings of life with you. And one of the best things about having a good friend, they just seem to love you no matter what.

But something tends to happen, as we get older if we're not careful. We begin to live like we're better off doing life alone or that we really don't need anyone's help. We forget to celebrate others and how important it is to love and laugh with friends.

This is not the life we want for our preschoolers. No way! We want God's best for them, and that is a life filled with amazing friendships - friendships like David and Jonathan who loved each other like brothers. We want our kids to be the kind of friend that goes out of their way to show kindness like David did for anyone he could find in Jonathan's family. We want our preschoolers to have that special joy that can only come from having good friends and being a good friend.

This month, we want to celebrate the gift of friendship! We want to lead our preschoolers in thanking God for giving us such good friends. And ultimately, for giving us the best friend we could ever ask for - JESUS - the perfect example of what a good friend truly is.

Volunteer Opportunities

TCC runs on volunteers! Please visit the TCC "How to Serve" webpage at http://www.tccwayland.org/serve.php for more information.   Here are a few current opportunities:

Additional Ushers Still Needed...
Our mission:   To welcome every visitor and member to the house of God!

What is needed : Ushers are absolutely critical in helping newcomers form their first impression of TCC. You help set the tone for the worship experience to come. You are representatives of God's kingdom.  You're not just opening doors, providing information, handing out bulletins or collecting the offering, you are making people feel welcome!

Could you help ONE  Sunday morning a month?  Please contact Debbie Wilson at [email protected] or 508-358-7717.

Volunteer Offering Counters Needed ...
Are you accurate and reliable?  Volunteers count the weekly offering (mostly checks for deposit) each Sunday, and we are in need of new helpers.  Offering counters work in pairs.  Contact Aimee Mury at [email protected] or 508- 358-7717, x303 if this might be a way you could help us.  Training provided!

Coffee Hour needs YOU!
If you enjoy having a cup of coffee while chatting with others between Sunday services, please sign-up (alone or with your Small Group) to host a coffee hour!   You don't even have to provide snacks - just make, set up and then clean up the coffee and tea ! ( Easy instructions provided - click here to see what is involved!)
Participation gives you and your group an opportunity to serve the Lord and is greatly appreciated by your fellow members.
Please sign up at the Connection Hub this Sunday or contact Robin Spinale, our new Coffee Hour Coordinator at [email protected]!

Missions Committee
Do you have a heart for missions? Would you consider serving on the Missions Committee?
The committee meets monthly to distribute church funds to missionaries and mission organizations that are involved with college, regional and foreign ministries. We address short term missions and one-time requests as well. The committee members correspond with these missionaries in the field to follow their progress, make sure their needs are met and their prayer requests addressed.  It is the committee's responsibility to keep the congregation updated on missionaries we support; to report on progress, activities, needs, and prayer requests.
If you would like to volunteer or find out more information, please contact Carolyn Lippmann, Committee Chairperson, or David Jenkins, committee member, at [email protected] or 508-358-5406 and [email protected] or 508-380-4015.

Thanks for reading and hope to see you this weekend.
Sincerely,

Debora Wilson
