Greetings!
In this issue, we are spotlighting
SECUROS and
AOVET North America, two of the companies that endow the Mark S. Bloomberg Memorial Resident Research Awards.
As you may know, Mark Bloomberg was a tremendous contributor to The Veterinary Orthopedic Society as a former VOS president, long-standing member, contributor, and supporter. He had special interests in orthopedics, especially sports medicine, and made outstanding contributions to this area in the clinical and research settings. Dr. Bloomberg was also a tremendous supporter and mentor to residents. To honor this special individual, his work, and his devotion to residents, The Veterinary Orthopedic Society established The Mark S. Bloomberg Memorial Resident Research Awards.
These awards, which have become among the most prestigious in the society, are given each year to residents submitting abstracts for presentation at the VOS Annual Conference. The awards allow the recipients to travel to the meeting to present their work.
This year, through generous donations from our sponsors, we were able to fully fund seven Bloomberg Memorial Resident Research Awards. Our sponsors are:
In addition to being an endowed sponsor, AOVET North America also endowed a $250 cash prize and course tuition fee for the best resident project.
VOS has decided to award only seven Mark Bloomberg Memorial Resident Research Awards each year, which means there is only one spot left for an Endowed Sponsorship. If you are interested in becoming an Endowed Sponsor or know of a company or individual who may want to do this, we encourage you to act quickly and contact Chris Horstman, Director of the Education Foundation, at

We will profile our other sponsors in later issues of this newsletter.
Thank you to all our sponsors for their generous support!
