MAY 2015 NEWSLETTER

2015 CHAPLAIN SCHOOL
April 7-12th, Redondo Beach, CA

The Annual Chaplain School and Business Meeting concluded on April 12th. It was a time of rejuvenation and fellowship for all who attended. The 2015 Chaplain School was led by Dr. Isaac Canales and Pastor Josh Canales of Mission Ebenezer Church

The theme was "Bridging the Gap, Uniting God's Workers in Common Purpose."  We used Philippians 2:1-4 as our theme verses and divided them into a six session study.

Join us in our study by taking time to  answer these questions  for yourself or with a group you are involved with!

Why is the Chaplain School so Important You Ask?

RTCA is a network of Ministers and Christian volunteers who labor together for the common purpose of ministering the person and work of our Lord Jesus Christ to the horse racing industry. This network is vital for our own well-being and the collective common purpose we share together.  Most of this is done from afar, but once a year we have this opportunity to come together and experience the joy of fellowship at our annual Chaplain School and we are so thankful for your support.

REMEMBERING PATSY PAYNE

In March the RTCA Family lost one of our longtime members and supporters, Patsy Payne, who went home to Jesus after a long battle with cancer. Her battle is over and her victory is in Jesus. She was ready to meet her Lord and she gave that comfort to her family and friends. Our prayers are with Patsy's husband John, her family, and her Remington Park Family during this challenging time.

In the past Patsy served on the Board of Directors for RTCA National in a multitude of positions. She was devoted to the Remington Park Chaplaincy in Oklahoma where she served on a local level since 1996. She served their Council as both President and Treasurer. She was also involved in starting many programs on the backside, such as: the clothes closet, food pantry, and weekly meals before Bible study.

 We will miss you Patsy.
