AiFL Culinary Student Earns Heiko Dobrikow Board of Trustee Scholarship
Kimberly Behan, a Culinary Arts student at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, was recently recognized as the winner of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale's Heiko Dobrikow Board of Trustee Scholarship at the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association's (FRLA) Excellence in Education Gala.
The recently established Heiko Dobrikow Board of Trustee Scholarship is a series of four $1,000 scholarships for culinary students enrolled at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Named in honor of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale's Board of Trustee member Heiko Dobrikow, the award honors outstanding culinary students for their academic achievements and career ambitions.
Dobrikow, the scholarship's benefactor, presented the award to Behan at the Excellence in Education Gala which was held at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort on Fort Lauderdale Beach on May 5, 2016. Behan, who is earning her Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts, was among 10 other scholarship winners at the gala. She was selected due to her volunteer work at AiFL and ambitious goals to utilize her culinary education in Europe after graduation.
