"The Catalyst"
May 2016

Executive Director's Corner
It's always a joy for me to report good things happening in Rankin Baptist Churches. On Easter Sunday morning, with 44 of our 65 churches reporting, we had 33,601 attending in Rankin County. That's not counting those with satellites elsewhere. (Counting those would put us over the 40,000 mark!) That is significantly more than our averages. Hopefully many will return who have not been coming, and they will experience the changed life that only Christ can bring.

May is always an exciting month with all the graduations and other special events such as church homecomings. It is my hope that in all the celebrating we will remember to continue to put Christ first. For example, I hope that the graduates are seeking His will as to what their next step is beyond graduation. Also in the excitement of a church homecoming we will remember that He is the reason that the church was started and He is also the reason that it is still going.
Just a reminder: if you or anyone from your church plans to attend the Southern Baptist Convention in St. Louis, you can get your messenger cards from the Mississippi Baptist Convention or you can register online.

Have a great May. By the way, two significant opportunities for celebrating that I didn't mention are Mothers' Day and Memorial Day. I hope those are happy occasions for you also.

In HIS Service,
Allen Stephens

Monday morning at RCBA

Could barely work this morning with the smell of sausage and eggs in the air..scratch biscuits too.....thank you to Rev. Pete Pearson for cooking for our Pastors!!
Clear Branch - God is at work in this Rankin County Church
Most unbelievable night I've ever experienced. Over 200 people on a Monday night in the middle of a thunderstorm. The biggest church attendance ever in the history of CBBC. 27 decisions, several of those to follow up with. Baptized a young lady that surrendered her life to Jesus Sunday. Baptized a family that heard the gospel tonight, repented, surrendered to Jesus, and said they wanted to be baptized tonight, never been in our church before but left knowing they have a family. It was a God thing. Glory to God. We are baptizing a bunch of folks tomorrow night. Don't miss this for one minute. Ball fields are flooded and you have nothing better to do, trust me.

I'm left in awe. 250+ tonight attended a revival at a lil church that a GPS won't even get you to. At the end of service 27 people were counseled for decisions, 33 baptized, 5 families baptized together, husbands taking a stand for Christ, youth bringing families and parents getting saved and whole families coming to know Christ, single momma's and kids coming to know Christ and getting baptized together, some getting baptism on the right side of their salvation, people transformed for God's Glory, relationships healed, reconciliation taking place. Since Sunday morning we've counseled 104 people for various decisions, baptized 46 people, and watched something I just can't quite grasp yet. I'm in awe at the Spirit of God. LET'S HAVE REVIVAL. Let me introduce you to the new centerpiece of CBBC Florence.

CPC Needs:
On Tuesday, March 29, hundreds of you demonstrated your love for our ministry and the women we serve by attending our Spring Luncheon.  You, as our supporters, partner with us in nurturing godly relationships with every dime you send, every volunteer hour you spend.

Thank you so much for your commitment to our mission. Together we are empowering the choice for life! Together, we are working to gather a total of 500 friends to donate $20/month specifically for the Fondren Initiative to be fully funded. If you have not already become a monthly partner towards the Fondren Initiative, you can today at www.cpcfondren.com.  Thank you for the great blessing you already are to the CPC; we love each one of you dearly.

Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery is designed to help hurting people. It is made up of regular folks, who are on a journey toward wholeness; seeking recovery from and celebrating God's healing of life's hurts, habits and hang-ups. Trained leaders provide safe, confidential, Christ-centered groups where people can grow. At Celebrate Recovery we believe that change is possible by the power of Jesus through this Biblical Discipleship program. Celebrate Recovery is for anyone with the courage to be honest about life's hurts, habits and hang-ups and who is willing to open their life to healing and change. West Rankin Celebrate Recovery meets on Thursday nights at 6:00 PM at the Grace Center in Richland. Please join us.
