MAKING AN IMPACT...
In June of 2016, an 80 year old female began attending MARCC to enhance her daily social activities, meet new friends and get "out of the house." She had become less interested in the environment around her and her family and caregivers felt she would benefit with an outing to MARCC twice per week. The hunch was correct and soon she became very interested in attending the center and enjoyed all her activities including her ride to MARCC on the cab. The second amazing event that happened was that she had a daughter who was 54 years old and she suffered from a brain disorder that also qualified her for day services at MARCC. She also was in need of socialization that daycare presents and the opportunity to reunite with her mother has had the most pleasant results. The two ladies can now spend time together as mother and daughter 3 days per week. I really enjoy this unique twist on the opportunities Marshfield Area Respite Care Center provides for our community.
