Dear Youth, Parents, & Leaders,
When things get busy with high anticipation as to all that needs to be done as a school year draws to a close, one good thing to do is to pause and remember all that has already been done. We have opportunities for new memories in May, but also a time to pause and remember all that God has done in our youth ministry this past school year at our End-of-Semesta Fiesta on May 21.
Another good moment to pause is on Mother's Day, which we celebrate this month. Most mothers would say that "it's never all done" and "there's always something to do." Well, on a mother's special day, what a gift to stop and think of all she has accomplished. Also, what a gift youth could give their mothers by letting them know you have noticed all the good she has accomplished-- just by being herself!
One final reason to pause this May is to remember all God has done.
Psalm 111:1-4 says, "Praise the Lord! I will thank the Lord with all my heart as I meet with his godly people. How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! All who delight in him should ponder them. Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty. His righteousness never fails. He causes us to remember his wonderful works. How gracious and merciful is our Lord!" We just celebrated Easter a couple of weeks ago-- the biggest reason in human history to remember and to celebrate the resurrection of Christ our Lord!
When life gets busy this month, pause... breathe... and remember all God has done, perhaps specifically in your own families and in our youth ministry. Let it be a time of thanksgiving and also a time of supplication in prayer for what's to come!
You are loved and you are prayed for! Pay careful attention to our up-coming events! Don't get lost in the details. May God bless you all as you balance your time among homework, sports, jobs, clubs, family, and church! See you soon :)
With
YOUth on My Heart,
