From your Missionary
Summer is right around the corner and I am very excited about what God is going to do again through Vacation Bible Schools, HBA camps, and mission opportunities. During the third week of May there will be a special emphasis for the association. This is a week where our churches can pray for all of the efforts of the association. I want to encourage each church and individual to diligently pray that God will strengthen our churches and that he will continue to guide us as an association of churches that will be faithful to carry out the Great Commission. I trust that you are already praying for each other and for how God is going to move in a mighty way this summer as we reach people with the Gospel!

This month we are going to have our first Annual Association Spring Inspirational meeting. This meeting will be similar to our annual meeting. The meeting will be held at Morningside Baptist Church on May 21st at 7:00 pm. We will begin with a brief time of business for the executive committee members from our churches and will move right into a wonderful time of worship. Bro. Kenny Peters will be leading our worship and Rev. Randy Mullinax will be bringing the message. I hope that you will make plans to attend this exciting evening as we gather together to sing praises and to hear from God’s word!

I want to make you aware that we have many needs at our HBA camp. There are many things that need to be repaired and renovated to make our buildings more efficient. There will be a special fundraiser for the camp at First Baptist Church of Cordele on May 19th at 6:00 p.m. This fundraiser will consist of a Gospel Sing and a cake auction. We need to raise approximately 12,000 dollars. I know that our association appreciates the ministry of the camp and I trust that you will want to contribute toward the efforts of making this camp a better place for all of those who attend camps and for the many churches that use the camp as a spiritual retreat!

I know I have said many times that I consider it a joy and a blessing to serve our churches as your missionary, but I want to say it one more time. We have great Pastors and churches and I pray everyday that God will continue to do great things through our churches and through all the many things that we do together to have an impact on the lostness in our community and around the world. May we continue to unite together so that God will be glorified and that His Kingdom will grow.

Bro. Gary
