Alumni Networking Reception

Join us for the Alumni Networking Reception on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Columbus Academy Dining Hall, where Asim Haque '98 will be honored with the 2018 Young Alumni Award. The event also features a Columbus Development themed panel with guest speakers Asim Haque '98, Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio; Mandy Mallot '03, Business Development Specialist with City of Columbus; Anthony Ciminello '10, Project Manager with Ciminello's Inc.; and moderated by Michael Stinziano '98, Councilman for Columbus City Council.

Registration is $10 per person. Kindly register online by May 18.
John Exline '64 Named Commencement Speaker

A celebration of John Exline's 50th year teaching at Columbus Academy will culminate with the 1964 graduate serving as the school's Commencement speaker on June 7. The school's 2018 Commencement will honor 95 seniors from all over Central Ohio, who will matriculate to 60 different colleges and universities in 23 states.

Alumni Association Welcomes Seniors

At the annual Senior Alumni Board Luncheon earlier this week, the Alumni Board officially welcomed the senior class into the alumni association. The Class of 2018 was welcomed and congratulated by Alumni Board President Lauren Hilsheimer '02 at the luncheon held at Creekside Conference and Event Center, owned by Alumni Board member Sheila Dioun Trautner '98. Outgoing Alumni Board member and Alumni Board Past President Brian Shepard '96 shared his reflections on his time at Academy and remaining an engaged alumnus. Student Alumni Board Representative Isabelle Bettinger took the class on a walk down memory lane as she shared her thoughts about her time at Academy.  

Director of Alumni Relations Jennifer Conti recognized the Student Alumni Board Representatives -- Isabelle Bettinger, Madelyn DeAscentis, Max Dreisbach, Davis Friedman and Carly Shocket -- for their alumni work this year and their commitment as class agents following graduation. Retiring board members Michael Crawley '81, Jim Feibel '51, W.D. Ferriel '98 and Brian Shepard '96 were also recognized and thanked for their years of service and commitment to Academy and the alumni association.
All Day 4 CA - Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who went All In with your Viking spirit and support during All Day 4 CA. Your participation made this a remarkable day of giving that exceeded all expectations. An incredible 940 donors (134 more than last year) contributed $428,600 for this year's Annual Fund. The best part was seeing lifelong friends, classmates and former teachers reconnect with one another as a result of this spirited day!

In the just-released issue of Columbus CEO magazine, Columbus Academy is recognized as one of the Top Workplaces among midsize organizations in Central Ohio for 2018. Also, we earned special recognition for offering outstanding professional development opportunities, as highlighted in a piece featuring school psychologist Suzanne Ritter!
Sports News

All are welcome to join us in the Dining Hall at 1:45 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, May 4) to celebrate the following seniors who will continue their athletic careers on the collegiate level: Max Dreisbach (swimming at Miami University), Karibi Hart (track at Columbia University), Tessa Lopresti (synchronized swimming at Wheaton College in Massachusetts), Ryan Mitchell (baseball at Denison University), Carson Nichols (football at Kenyon College), Josh Pearson (football at Notre Dame College of Ohio), Nick Robie (cross country and track at Butler University), John Schiano (football at Amherst College) and Matt Schiano (football at Amherst College)! Overall, 22 members of this year's senior class of 95 students have committed to competing athletically in college. To learn more about the previously announced signees, click here.
