Fabulous Frogs

Hop on over to learn about the different frogs (and toads) that call the park home and what they tell us about our ecosystem. See some live ones up close and hike around our pond to observe others.

History Hike

Long ago, many families lived and worked on what is now Harris Lake County Park.
We will take a 1-mile hike to discover the rich history of this land through engaging tales
and by listening to our OnCell audio tour. We'll also take a peek at some exciting developments
Meet at the Disc Golf gravel parking lot
Kids Discover Nature - Life Cycles/Life Circles:
Monday, May 7; 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
For ages 1-6; $4 per child
Using plastic models and some live examples, discover a few of the life cycles in nature - plants, butterflies, frogs and birds. We will hear a story and create one of the life circles to take home.

Geocaching 101 at Harris Lake County Park
Saturday, May 26; 10–11:30 a.m.
For ages 6 and up; $1 per person
Geocaching is like a treasure hunt where participants use GPS coordinates to track down hidden "caches". Learn what geocaching is all about and take off to find a geocache in the park.
We will provide a GPS unit per family and instruction on how to use them.
Feel free to bring your own unit or smartphone with a geocache app.
