A Warm Thank You to Summit's 2017 Public Art Sponsors & Donors
The Summit Public Art committee dedicates this month's email to our patrons, a group of art appreciators, several seen here, whose generosity benefits our community and everyone else who works, shops, or plays in Summit. As a committee we understand the unique role of art as a means of enhancing and beautifying our world, but we couldn't act on our mission without the generous support of site sponsors and donors. From us to you, thank you for all you've done to bring art to public places in Summit.

Update on RAMP UP
Summit Public Art's Rising Artist Mentorship Program, RAMP UP, has paired artist Dan Fenelon with student artists at Summit High School. After spending three months creating it, the students will be participating in the installation of their work on June 5, on the Village Green between the train station and Broad Street.
"Grounding Sky" by Tadashi Hashimoto Now on Village Green
Artist Tadashi Hashimoto arrived with "Grounding Sky" on the back of a flatbed truck last week. We got to watch the installation of the piece and saw all the work that goes into getting a sculpture in just the right place and at just the right angle. You can see "Grounding Sky" at the corner of Elm and Broad Streets on the Village Green. It adds a beautiful pop of color that shifts with the clouds and sun as the day progresses.
