The "Discovering Community Cafe" is the place to be on Saturday May 27, 10:00 - 2:00 at the Qualicum Civic Centre.  
 
Qualicum Community Education and Wellness Society (QCEWS) invites all to this day of reviewing the "Discovering Community Survey" results, discussion of project ideas that flow from the identified needs, a nutritious served lunch, then a conversation café where people will participate in action planning on the identified projects they are interested in.  QCEWS = working collaboratively, improving quality of life for all.  RSVP re. lunch to info@qcews.com

The survey was an initiative by the newly formed Qualicum Community Education and Wellness (QCEWS) Society, a grassroots organization of citizens that supports lifelong learning and wellness to compliment other services in Qualicum Beach. The topics were suggested through consultations with high school students, seniors and members of QCEWS.

Monday, May 29 in the  Windsor Room - Qualicum Civic Centre from  9 am to 4:30 pm

The instructor will be Sally de la Rue Browne, CPHIC who is a Certified Public Health Inspector with Enviro-Food Consulting. As a member of the Qualicum Beach CHamber of Commerce, she is offering this course at a discounted fee for members. 
Clients include Kwalikum Secondary School, Beban Park Rec, Whole Foods & Red Robin Canada.

Chamber members will receive a discounted fee of $68.00!
Non-Members can register for $80.00.

Pre-registration of members will be required. A tax receipt is issued as well. Students will be qualified on the day after successfully completing the exam. A temporary certificate is issued and can be used until the official one is ready from Vancouver Island Health.

Geology Tour
Join Dr. Steven Earle for an interpretive geology tour on the beaches of Nanoose Bay. Learn simple identification techniques and a bit about the island's geological history. Transportation will be provided from your choice of either Oceanside Place Arena at 9:00 am or Nanoose Place at 9:30 am. This tour is on Wednesday, May 24th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Pickleball Tournaments
Register today for the pickleball tournament hosted by RDN Recreation and Parks at Oceanside Place Arena. 3 divisions: Men's, Women's and Mixed Doubles. Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of 8 games. $50 per team. Men's and Women's divisions will play Friday, May 26 and the Mixed division will play Thursday May 25. Red Cross AED/CPR C
Save a life when only seconds count. Get Trained. This course is required for lifeguards and health care professionals. Topics covered are CPR and blocked airways for adults, children and infants and an introduction to automated external defibrillators (AED).
