May 9 Luncheon with Philip Pearthree
Geologic Hazards in Central Arizona and Potential Impacts on Existing and Future Development

Dr. Pearthree will present perspectives on the principal geologic hazards affecting the Central Arizona region including 1) earth fissures related to groundwater withdrawal and land subsidence; 2) flood hazards along smaller tributary washes and larger regional river systems; 3) landslides (rotational and translational landslides, major rockfalls, debris flows); 4) post-wildfire hazards, primarily flooding and debris flows; and 5) earthquake hazards.

Time: Registration Begins at 11:30 AM
**Alternative Location**   Calvin C. Goode Municipal Building, 10th Floor, 251 W Washington St Phoenix, AZ 85003  
Parking: Park at the City Hall Garage immediately west of the Calvin C. Goode Municipal Building. Parking vouchers for at least 50% will be provided at the Luncheon.
Security: All attendees will have to go through security, please be patient.

Hamilton High School ASCE Engineering Club Wins Award!
The Hamilton High School ASCE Club won the Arizona State Competition of Stockholm Junior Water Prize for the project on “Reducing Brine Waste in Reverse Osmosis (RO) Systems with Distillation”! Help us recognize and celebrate the success of these bright students and their mentor and Phoenix Branch Outreach Chair Kent Lall, PhD, PE, Fellow ASCE. Kent has been a great leader and coach for the students and is doing an outstanding job serving the Phoenix Branch.
