Putting the brakes on distracted driving

At Texas Mutual, we are committed to keeping Texas workers safe and that includes our own employees as well. That's why we have implemented a companywide policy to eliminate the use of cell phones, including hands-free devices, while operating any vehicle during work hours.

The business world and our culture at large have become accustomed to instant answers to calls and texts, but the new policy encourages a culture change. By eliminating the distraction from phones, including hands-free, Texas Mutual employees will return calls or texts after they have safely pulled over or when they have made it to their destination. The risks of doing otherwise are just not worth it, as safety studies show that even a hands-free device is significantly distracting, and the consequences of distracted driving can be deadly.

We encourage you and your clients to be safe behind the wheel as well. Visit texasmutual.com for tips on steering clear of motor vehicle accidents and worksafetexas.com on eliminating distractions.
Texas Mutual has returned more than  $2 billion to our policyholders since 1999.
