La Tarara: Kasandra Flamenco marks the last ACT Presents performance of the 2016-17 season.

We hope you have enjoyed this year’s unique performances from Canada and around the world. We look forward to bringing you more ACT Presents performances in the 2017-18 season.

La Tarara:
Kasandra Flamenco
Sunday, May 7
7:30 p.m.

La Tarara explores the power and variety of human emotions. This percussive flamenco dance spins a tale of brotherhood with rivalry, love, jealousy and intrigue in the mystical Café de Chinitas of Federico Garcia Lorca’s poetry. Alluring dance, Sevillan silk shawls, Spanish bata de cola (long train dress), castanets, uttering fans and epic footwork all bring the story to life.

My dancers move in a world of strong

Their relation with their environment is direct and without detours.

They tell us stories which will never end and which will awaken our senses.
