Priscilla Mpasi, MD
, University of Maryland 3rd year Pediatrics Resident, completed a rotation with Children's Medical Group, Cumberland.
Dr. Mpasi (center) met recently with Joy Taylor (left), AHEC West HPV P
roject Specialist, and Terri Socha, Clinical Education Coordinator, to share her experience and to explore continued connections to AHEC West and rural communities.
Dr. Mpasi has been selected for the Health Policy Fellowship with National Clinician Scholars Program (formerly Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars). She will be at the University of Pennsylvania pursuing health policy-relevant research
and building community partnerships with the aim to improve health care delivery and increase positive health outcomes (www.medupenn.edu/nationalcsp/). She will also have a clinical appointment at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), delivering primary pediatric care to the underserved community in the city.
Kristen Lancaster, UMSOM 4th year student (holding puppy at left) completed an April rotation with K. Jill Ciccarelli, MD (holding puppy at right) Family Medicine, in Williamsport, MD. Kristen begins a residency in Pediatrics in July.
University of Maryland PRIMARY CARE TRACK program
- Of the 12 medical students who completed Primary Care shadowing in Western Maryland in 2014, 10 returned to Western Maryland for their 3rd or 4th year rotations, and
- FOUR of the students matched into Primary Care Residencies.
- Twelve Primary Care Track students in the class of 2020 are coming to Western Maryland for their 2-week Primary Care Track shadowing this summer.
