 PRESIDENTS MESSAGE FROM TONY PARKER

WSCA President
Tony Parker CEC, ACE

May / June 2014

May has come and gone and our largest fundraiser of the year was a big success.  First of all a big thank you to Bates Technical College for hosting this year's sack lunch extravaganza.  Also a big thank you to all the student and professional volunteers that gave up their time getting ready for the event and for the record time of building the wraps and sack lunches.  Huge kudos go out to Chef Roger and JJ for their organization and support for the event.  Thank you all.
Follow-up info and pictures coming soon on the website: click here.

Our last meeting for the summer is next Monday, June 9th at the Muckleshoot Casino.  They are planning on treating us to an array of stations showing off their diverse restaurants and culinary staff.  This is one you do not want to miss.  For those of you that were there last year it was one of the best dinners.  All current members and volunteers will receive free admission to the dinner.  There will be a $20.00 fee for all other attendees.  Please make reservations so we have a count for the venue.  I look forward to seeing you all there. For more details on the Volunteer Appreciation event, click here.

We will not have a meeting in July because of the Nationals.  We will have a board meeting in August to plan for future fundraisers and events like the Chocolate Competition(info below).  Enjoy the summer if I do not see you next week, always remember to make the time to enjoy summer while it is here.

Event Follow-up:

Our largest fundraiser of the year was a big success.  The Special Olympics 2014 sack lunch preparation is a very large undertaking and many volunteers are needed each year to make this a successful event. This is all in the spirit of helping the competitors of the Special Olympics succeed in their events.
