Summer Reading 2018 begins the day after Memorial Day. This year's theme, Libraries Rock!, celebrates music and creativity. This year's program features one round, where each participant reads 20 minutes per day for 20 days. Those who complete the challenge will receive prizes and be entered for drawings for other prizes.

Please register any time between May 29 and June 12.

As in years past, a $10.00 summer family membership is available from May 29 through August 31.

John Wright is the founder of Chattanooga Area Emergency Readiness (CAER), a volunteer group formed to help citizens be prepared at home, in neighborhoods and workplaces for disasters that might strike. The group encourages reasonable preparedness as recommended by the Red Cross and FEMA and TEMA. The program is free and open to the public at Collegedale Public Library.

Marilyn Walls, in from Seattle, Washington to visit her sister, Judy Luster, will talk about her book, brain health and caregiving for those with dementia. She has a Masters in Nutrition from Bastyr University, the premiere Naturopathic School of Medicine, where she was adjunct professor for three years. She is a nutrition and health educator and advocate, writer, and creator of herbal teas and natural body care products. "Mother's Secret: A Nutritionist's View of Family and Alzheimer's Disease" is her first book.

The String Quintet of the CSO is composed of principal members from the orchestra and they regularly perform in schools, libraries, hospitals, public parks, community centers, and businesses to inspire, engage, and enrich the greater Chattanooga community through music and music education.  The musicians of the quintets are some of the finest in the area, performing and teaching throughout the community.

stuck in the middle. Ryan is the lead pastor of The Net Church, a multi-site church in Southeast Tennessee for those who don't do church.  He is married with two children.

Chess Club for Kids meets at Collegedale Public Library each fourth Sunday. Elementary through middle school students are invited to bring your chess set (if you have one) and engage in the game of chess!

Bricks are being placed outside the Library for a Friends Garden! For $25, you can have a brick placed in the brick display. We are close to having enough bricks for a new order, so hurry in and order your bricks.  
 
This is an ongoing fundraiser for Friends of Collegedale Public Library.

Preschool Story Time: For ages 3-5, featuring 30 minutes of stories, finger plays, and other activities.

Collegedale Kids Club: For school-aged children, featuring 1 hour of stories, craft, film, and activities. Wednesdays @ 4:00 . A therapy dog visits March 7.

Calling all knitters, crocheters, and other yarn artists! Come join us for a program for all yarn crafters. We'll be sharing our past and current projects, information on our favorite materials and suppliers, and favorite pattern sources. This program is open to all ages and abilities (including wannabe yarn geeks!). So bring your questions, comments, and current WIP (work in progress).
