Summer Vocal Recital
Connor Notestine, Baritone
Saturday, June 17 @ 3 PM
Hello Maple Grove! My name is Connor Notestine, a member of this church family and singer in our Chancel Choir. I am currently pursuing my degree in Music Education at Otterbein University. I have been fortunate to see how music has moved and changed my soul. As such, my life's goal is to instill that love of music in students so that they can experience the same sorts of life changing moments as I have.  One such life changing experience will take place this December as the Otterbein University Concert Choir, of which I am a member, will travel to Germany as part of an American Celebration of Music Performing Tour. Over the course of the tour, the choir will visit and perform in cities such as Frankfurt, Bonn, Köln, Leipzig, and Berlin. In addition, we will be performing in some of Europe's oldest and historic churches and cathedrals as well as visiting the homes of the world's most famous composers, such as Bach and Beethoven. Sharing music with audiences is itself a surreal experience. Even more, using music as a universal language and performing in world famous venues is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity.
A trip such as this, however, does not come without costs. As such, I am holding a benefit vocal recital on Saturday, June 17, at 3:00 PM in the Sanctuary as a way to help raise funds for this monumental venture. Greg White will be featured on piano and music will include the work of Handel, Scarlatti, Copland, and Andrew Lloyd Webber, as well as German and Sacred selections. A free will offering will be taken during a short intermission and a reception will follow the performance in the Parlor. My church family at Maple Grove has meant so much to me, and I would love to have you come to the performance. Thank you!
