I would like to recognize and send a big congratulations to our Ceca Award Winner First Quarter 2018: Tonya Lee! We celebrate Tonya and appreciate all she gives to Forest Hills! Please read on in this newsletter for some of the nice things Tonya's peers had to say about her.

In order for our incredible staff to receive these awards through Ceca, they must first be nominated by their peers. Kayon Brice, one of our wonderful CNAs who won a Ceca Award herself in April 2016 and was our Nominator of the Year for 2016, has once again won "Nominator of the Quarter." Thank you, Kayon, for holding up your peers for much-deserved recognition!

Finally, we hope you have received your official invitation to the 26th Annual Golf Tournament & Awards Banquet on June 18th! Read on in this newsletter for more information on our only major fundraiser and how you can support our work.

Did you know...
Forest Hills of DC first opened its doors 129 years ago as The Methodist Home, with the mission to :

"provide for the aged members ... a comfortable residence with board, clothing, employment, skillful medical and other necessary attendance and the accustomed means of grace."

Much has changed since then, but our mission to care for our residents remains steadfast!
26th Annual Golf Tournament & Awards Banquet
Monday, June 18, 2018 at Norbeck Country Club

There is still time to sign up for the 26th Annual Golf Tournament. You won't want to miss our special guest speaker: Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist, Joe Krebs!

Year-round, the staff at Forest Hills and Forest Side dedicate themselves to providing person-centered care to ensure the highest quality of life for our residents. On Monday, June 18th we offer our community the opportunity to support the work we do through our only major fundraiser: the Annual Golf Tournament and Awards Banquet.

Even if you do not play golf, you can still participate by taking advantage of various event sponsorships, joining us for the Awards Banquet, or simply by making a tax deductible contribution.

Ceca Award Winner, First Quarter 2018
Tonya Lee

Congratulations to Tonya Lee on winning the Ceca Award for the first quarter of 2018! We celebrated the award at Forest Hills with some of the nice things residents and peers had to say:

"One of our residents was upset about his meal; Tonya personally went to him and sat eye level next to him, asking how could she make his meal enjoyable. He calmed down and thanked her."

"Tonya went above and beyond to make the residents happy during the breakfast meal. Not only did she serve the residents their meals, but she helped them with their menus and was available for special requests. Tonya says she enjoys working with the residents and making them happy is her priority."

"Tonya has adjusted so well on this unit. She takes pleasure in making sure that the residents' needs are met. She also interacts with them face to face. On several occasions she has taken the initiative to step in and help beyond her normal duties."

Thank you, Tonya, for all you do for our residents and our community!
