Bethesda House

A faith-based home for pregnant or parenting
mothers and their babies.

Missy's Message

Greetings! As always, it is a joy to write this update.  We have two new moms and newborns at Bethesda House.  We are really enjoying the new babies and getting to know the beautiful young ladies God has brought.   They are so excited for the move which will be happening very soon.   We have planned the Open House for Saturday, May 19 from 2-5:00.   We cannot wait for you to see the transformation of the property from a commercial building into a home for our young moms and their babies.  This remodel has been such an experience; it is clear to see the love that was poured in by so many volunteers donating their time and talent.  We’ve welcomed several new volunteers that have completed the Direct Care Training and are now working directly with moms and babies.  In addition to our regularly scheduled training, North River Community Church sponsored a training at their church, with a great turn out.  THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERY VOLUNTEER THAT HAS GIVEN OF THEMSELVES IN SOME WAY.  You are the heart of Bethesda House. We prayed, and God sent you. Thank you for responding to His call.  Hope to see you at the Open House. God Bless!

** VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT BETHESDA HOUSE
Seeking Culinary Coordinator
We are looking for a volunteer to help the moms with meal planning, scheduling food shopping, and coordinating with food banks and pantries. If interested, or if you would like more info, please contact Missy at mp@bethesdahousema.org.

Seeking Daytime Staff
Starting, June 1, we would like to have volunteer daytime support people at BH between the hours of 8:00am -5:30pm Monday-Friday. The hours are flexible and could easily be half days. Ideally, these volunteers will assist in the day to day activities at BH. If you are interested in helping on the administrative side of things, this is where to sign up. We will run it like Evening Care. We will set a schedule with the “regulars” first (those committed to a regular set schedule i.e. every Tuesday 8-12, every other Thursday 1-5:30) then send the schedule out to others who want to fill in the blanks.  Please email Missy at mp@bethesdahousema.org. if you are willing to help in this new capacity and with what you would like for a schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, fill-in).
Gala Night Raises Astounding $24,000
What a wonderful evening we had in March celebrating God's glory through Bethesda House!

Thank you to every sponsor, every attendee, and every volunteer who had any part in our Gala Dinner & Silent Auction sponsored by Bridgewater Savings Bank. The Bethesda House moms did a spectacular job testifying to our mission of providing a home that is safe and nurturing for young mothers and their babies but most importantly-- is built on God's LOVE. May He continue to bless us with such amazing support from our loving community!
Latest Donation Needs
** Bethesda House is in need of expendable items on a regular basis. This month, we are specifically in short supply of paper goods, and household cleaning products. Check out the complete list of all of our current needs

And, as always, thank you for your continued generosity.
Yours Sincerely,

Missy Porter, RN
