GALA 2013 GALA FOLLOW-UP

Our 2013 Sunset Gala was a huge success, raising $15,000 for annual programming and outreach efforts!  Raffle winners:  the Seelert family won the iPad and the Salvate family won the Workshop.  Congratulations to this year's Allana Calder Memorial Scholarship recipient, Felicia Messina.  The evening featured student speakers, Rebecca Canziani, Jasmine Canziani and Miguel Garcia.  A special thank you to our gala committee:  Kathleen Durkee, Tracey Bryggman, Sarah White, Annie Whelan, Ethlyne Ziegler, Meredith Leff and Alexis Grausz.  Click here to see pictures from the event. 

New Kid NEW KID AUDITIONS - FREE PROGRAM!

Sign-ups are now open for the 2013-2014 season of our anti-bullying tour, The New Kid.  Auditions will be held June 13 at our Elmsford studio and callbacks are June 14.

Seeking kids who sing, dance and act who can BELIEVABLY play middle school students.  The New Kid is a one-hour-long musical that deals with themes like bullying, hazing, cliques and peer pressure at a middle school.  The cast is made up entirely of children.  

The show tours to schools within 1 hour of central Westchester County.  Performers must be able to miss up to two mornings of school per month, as shows are during the school day (usually at 9am).  Rehearsals will be after school and weekends (2-3 days/wk) in September and October.  Tour runs October through June.  Parents must be able to drive their children to the venues.

candle HANNAH LEWIS' BAT MITZVAH PROJECT 

We are honored to be selected for Hannah Lewis' Mitzvah Project, as part of her Bat Mitzvah.  In order to allow other children to participate in the programs at Random Farms that she has enjoyed growing up, Hannah has asked guests to donate to our Alanna Calder Memorial Scholarship Fund.  She has raised almost $2000!  Thank you, Hannah!

Summer Workshop Intensives SUMMER REGISTRATION OPEN (GRADES 3-8)

 

Have a free week this summer?  Sign up for one of our Summer Workshop Intensives and, in just seven days, you'll get to star in a musical.  Plus, enjoy daily dance classes and hone your skills with different "specials" like auditioning for TV commercials, improve and stage combat.  Pick your favorite show:  Peter Pan (June 24-30), Annie (July 2-9) and Bye Bye Birdie (August 5-11 or 13-19).  Program runs daily from 9am-3pm.  Grades 3-8.  More info at randomfarms.com/summerworkshop.  

Annie Kids Summer Jellybeans NEW JELLYBEANS SUMMER PROGRAM (GRADES 1-2)

 

Finally - a summer program just for Jellybeans!  Our popular musical theater program, which allows our youngest performers to star in a musical, has been developed into a special week-long summer intensive for children entering grades 1 and 2 in Fall 2013.  Two half day options are available (either 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm) and include daily rehearsals, dance classes and "specials" like auditioning for TV commercials, improve and stage combat. Always a hit at Random Farms, Headshot Day is back this June. Have industry-friendly headshots taken locally and at a discount ($140).

Yolanda Perez, a top NYC headshot photographer, will be coming to The Random Farms Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, June 18th from 2:30pm-8:30pm. Yolanda shoots for all the major theatrical agents and managers. She also shoots print and editorial, including the print book for Wilhelmina's kids' division, ABC television, The View and more.

Kids for a Cause JOB - ASST. DIRECTOR FOR KIDS FOR A CAUSE
 
Seeking a responsible high school or college student to assistant direct our 2nd-8th grade outreach group, Kids for a Cause. Responsibilities include supervising cast members, assisting the director in setting up and cleaning at off-site performances, reviewing choreography, making phone calls to late cast members, etc.  There is the possibility of splitting this position between two individuals - those interested should be available for at least 5 of the following dates (all after school): 5/20, 5/21, 5/28, 5/29, 6/3, 6/4, 6/5, 610, 6/11, 6/12.  Email julie@randomfarms.com with resume and specific availability.  You must be able to provide your own transportation to the performances, which are throughout central and southern Westchester.  $10/hr.

She also just wrapped shooting a SAG  Film, Tempest, where she plays the lead, Laura.

A Christmas Story AUDITIONS

 

A CHRISTMAS STORY (BROADWAY)

A Christmas Story, The Musical is returning this holiday season.  The show's producers, including Peter Billingsley, who starred as Ralphie in the original 1983 film, are holding open auditions to find exceptionally talented kids for the upcoming production of A Christmas Story, The Musical.  We are looking for the next Ralphie, his friends and classmates, including: Randy, Flick, Schwartz, Scut Farcus, Grover Dill, Mary Beth, and Esther Jane.


Seeking boys and girls ages 8-13 who sing, dance and act.  Kids should be under 4' 11".  Boys should have unchanged voices.  No experience is needed to audition.

When:  Sunday, May 5th at Pearl Studios (500 8th Avenue, 12th floor)
Registration begins at 11:30 with auditions from 12:00-5:00.

To prepare:  For the audition please prepare a brief song that is rhythmic, classic Broadway, and shows off your voice and personality.  Please bring sheet music-a pianist will be provided.  Please also bring a headshot (or some kind of picture) and a resume if you have one.

A Christmas Story, The Musical begins rehearsals in NYC October 7th.  The production will run through December 29, 2013. This is a paying job, in accordance with AEA guidelines. 11-15 YEAR-OLDS FOR LEAD ROLES IN FEATURE FILM ST. VINCENT DE VAN NUYS

OLIVER (M, 11 - 14 Years Old, Caucasian), MAGGIE'S son, he's skinny and frail with glasses, painfully awkward, very sensitive, and highly intelligent. OLIVER befriends his belligerent neighbor VINCENT, reforms the school bully, and navigates the tricky relationships he has with recently divorced parents.

 

ROBERT OZINSKI (M, 11 - 15 Years Old, African-American or Latino), the school bully who tortures OLIVER, until OLIVER wins his respect by breaking his nose in a fight at school.  Afterwards, they become inseparable companions.

Annie ANNIE (BROADWAY)
Seeking girls, ages 6-12, between the heights of 3'8" and 4'8". Must be excellent singers, dancers, and actresses. To be considered for future replacements for Annie and the other orphans in the Broadway company. All ethnicities are encouraged to attend. Please bring a photo and resume stapled together!

What to prepare / bring: Please come prepared to sing a short contemporary musical theatre song a capella that shows off your voice. We are asking all those auditioning to also have sheet music on hand for that song in the event that you are asked to sing along with accompaniment. Please bring snacks and beverages as you may be asked to stay for a few hours.
